I'll answer this. You can in fact play the content without the amiibo (Lower case please!) via hacking, NFC chip duplication, and probably a whole weird and wonderful amount of ways.
Also, I'm going to be honest here sunshine, you remind me of someone. And I despise that someone. Someone who hates every inch of my body because I don't have Steam. The way you approach what other people like is downright disrespectful. So what, if it doesn't bother other people? Guess what? It means it doesn't bother them, and that also means you shouldn't be bothering them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and stance on the matter. Regardless of what you believe, amiibo unlock stuff. Whether that stuff is of any value beyond the detail on the figure itself and the tech within is also down the opinion of the individual. We get it, you don't like amiibo. Lots of people do. Get off your high horse and stop badgering people because they do. Is that clear enough to get into your skull?
Answer the question. Yes/No. Silence or more than a yes/no will be deemed a concession on your part.
Answer.
Not rallydefault, but "all opinions are equal" is a rabbit hole you only go down as a last resort. You can tell someone has lost an argument when they try to confuse people by claiming no one is right or wrong.
@BLPs: No, you condescending POS, you misunderstood my post intentionally. The level data should have been sold with the engine, as a seperate game. It would have been easy to do as they did that with the retail version anyways.
Fine. Give me an example where amiibo takes away from the "full experience". I suppose one costume will infuriate you to no end, correct?
Splatoon. Super Mario Maker.
Splatoon IS cosmetic, there are plenty of better pieces of equipment out there. SMM the different characters can be unlocked in other ways, Amiibo are just a shortcut to unlocking them.
@TwilightAngel: I do believe know more than you, at least on this matter. I wouldn't bother arguing if I thought I was wrong.
NintendoLife seems to have an anti-discussion environment where actual disagreement or argument is frowned upon. Every opinion is equal guise.
OOH wow. Yup. In order for the game to run the engine has to be there. So if NSLU wasn't included with the engine....err....well the download/physical only versions wont work.
You know...if I wasn't knowledgeable on how a game was made, I probably wouldn't bother with you. In fact I wont. Can we have this thing removed please? He's started getting offensive in acronym form. That means I have to engage my brain a little and I don't like it.
Every opinion is equal guise and we are discussing with you. Hell, if you didn't swear so much, call a moderator a smartarse, and called me a POS, I think I'd have more respect for this discussion. As it stands, shoo.

Or it could just be that you don't take criticism very well. That's a thought...
You...you are aware of the physical release of NSLU as a standalone title...right? Please tell me you are. Because you have the download version logged in your brain as the only version it seems.
And the game has to include the engine, even if its download only, like many download only titles, otherwise, guess what? The game wont run. Plus, you really seem to think anything built on the same engine as a previous game is DLC. Hell, I'm in for mega-bucks then.
Can we remove this thing now? Please?

Sorry if you didn't mean any harm by your comment towards another user. You were getting very "In your face", kind of like the OP and some people were earlier, and people here know I don't tolerate that crap. Everyone is allowed an opinion, forcing it as fact isn't on, otherwise what's the point in the opinion, you know?

@CanisWolfred: I'm fine with criticism, but "ur a troll pls leave" and "everyone has the right to there opnions except u" and "im offended delete this thread" is annoying.
I can already tell that he's just a troll, especially if he's talking to an ADMINISTRATOR like that, not to mention we're all warning him and he's ignoring us. Better off getting the mods to deal with him now before things get worse.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@BLPs: I know what you're saying. Your comment caught me off guard because I'm constantly attacked for defending people's rights to their opinions, which is actually what I was kind of trying to do with the OP. But now the guy is just cursing people out and going nuts, so maybe that didn't work out.
Yeah I get that too. I understand what you were doing, but the way he conducted himself early on was basically a huge giveaway. Sad really. This could have been a good discussion if he was open to hearing other peoples opinions. I deal with those on my course and it's no better via the internet than it is in person.
