Topic: Nintendo's future

I didn't really know what to call this post so I kept it simple

How come the news seems to always be negative about the Wii U
It's barley a week old and yet every thing I keep reading is negative, it really pi**es me off
I typed Wii U into google search and the top 2 things that popped up were

Wii U, week two – Second thoughts and lingering questions

Wii U sells more than 400k units in first week, but lags behind first week Wii sales

(400,000 that's not alot? It really bloody is for its first week) If I made something and sold 400,000 units in a week I would be well happy

I have yet to read much praise for this console yet , it just seems that every magazine or journalist etc wants to bash the console and Nintendo for that matter

then there's other negaitivty all around: The CPU is crap, I don't understand the console, The Game pad is flawed,
It's all just to negative

PS Vita sales are sh*t but no one really seems to care

PS3 Sales were sh*t to begin and most people didn't care

The XBox 360 sold terrible in Japan but no one was bothered

If the Wii U console were called the PSU or The XBox U would there be as much negativity

I don't think there would

The only place I seem to read any sort of praise for the Wii U is on this website

Every console starts it life on a slippery slope but they pick up look at the 3DS it's blossoming now

Why are people so quick to knock Nintendo down they have sold more units of there consoles than all the other companys and yet all the big game websites and journalists still doubt them

What are you thoughts guys or am I wrong?

I know what you mean it makes me mad as well, and what's worse is people call us "fanboys" for saying that it makes us mad

@Harmoknight Exactly!! I wouldn't consider myself a fan boy as such but I prefer Nintendo to the other companys always have.

I own xbox 360 and ps3 The PS3 is a terrible console personally and I only use it to play Blu Rays and I only play Xbox 360 online with my friends and the only game we ever play online is bloody COD coz my friends are to narrow minded to try anything else. Don't get me wrong the xbox is a fantastic console but It seems to be home to about 80% of First Person Shooters and i'm a bit fed up of them.
I very rarely have a bad experience with Nintendo's games hence I always get the next game in the series be it mario, zelda, metroid etc

People love to hate Nintendo for absolutely no reason, it's a fact of the Internet.

I was referring to the no one cares part. People have been claiming the Vita is dead in the water for months now.

Oh, the facts contained within the first three statements I quoted aren't wrong. It's the allegation that they were all swept under the rug I take issue with.

@the_Fox The xbox sold terrible in Japan mate, Ps Vita sales are shocking but it's still getting new games and yes people may say sales are bad but they leave it at that, its doesn't get the barrage of assault like Nintendo get, ummm PS3 Sales were terrible to start coz of how over priced it was,
I'll give you the fact there is praise on other sites I was just making a statement that it seemed that all there is was negaitivity on all the websites I use apart from this one. So yeah thats it mate

Yeah and you wanna know what Sonys doing to help the Vita in Japan? Not releasing Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, MGS, or Kingdom Hearts, but instead releasing Assassins Creed, COD, and other western titles that the Japanese audience obviously doesn't care about.. Seriously that's like releasing Monster Hunter as a flagship title for the Next Xbox here not going to work

They're bad in Japan because people don't like PS and Xbox in Japan. In America, Really it's all 3 right now. A lot of people like the 360, a lot want the Wii U or own a 3DS, and a lot have the PS3. In Europe(if I'm correct) there are less Nintendo fans then there are PS fans. So basing sales off of Japan isn't always a good idea.

TBH, I can't really see what Microsoft can do with the next Xbox to make it seem super great, except add a better CPU and sell it. If there was one thing Xbox could do to make the Xbox better? Make a portable, super powered Xbox that can play Xbox games and connect to the internet, and cost like $200. But I know Microsoft isn't going to do that, because they're full of idiots.

No but Vita is doing better in Japan then anywhere else, but it's still bad and they literally have the demo stands full of western games which I don't get

Completely agree mate they are concentrating on a western audience in an eastern country that doesn't like change

The next XBox will literally be that a more powerful Xbox I doubt they will come up with anything Innovative. The problem is Nintendo have to innovate then the other companys (sony are worse) copy what Nintendo are doing. I heard rumours of the nest Xbox having a tablet like controller already.

Exactly my thoughts. It will be powerful, but not innovative. And I do agree, I think that Sony and Xbox are worse at copying off of Nintendo than Nintendo is at copying off of Sony and Xbox.

I'm kinda hoping Sony realizes they arnt going to make it if they sell for $500+ (which will be hard seeing as Nintendos WiiU is close to $400 already) and if they do they'll have to be 3rd party, which would allow me to play a ton of games I have my eyes on without having to buy a new system

In an ideal world what would be great is one big console that every developer works on but it will never happen obviously

I will also bet that the PS4 will copy the Wii-U in someway like they did with Mario smash brothers and the Wii remotes, that's why Sony wish'd the Wii-U success so they can copy them. **** Sony!
