@rjejr They're finally coming, NA are getting their own Selects line. Here's the list:
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
Mario Party Island Tour
Yoshi's New Island
Ocarina of Time 3D
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Super Mario All Stars
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Animal Crossing City Folk
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Super Mario 3D World
NES Remix Pack
Pikmin 3
If they come to Europe, I'll pick up Mario All-Stars. It's the only Wii game I'm still looking for. Strange that they're still printing Wii games themselves..
Anyway, good to see Pikmin 3 will be more easily available in some areas.

More Wii games? Seems a touch random at this point, especially Mario All Stars thing.
As for NES Remix, I have both packs downloaded, it's pretty fun, but hard to recommend for $30. I got both packs free from Club Nintendo. Maybe if it were $19.99 instead.
I think it's beyond ridiculous that they are trying to re-release All Stars again, especially for 30 dollars Canadian. It's further ridiculous considering they choose to put the original All Stars on a cart and not the reissue from the SNES days that included SMW. Really it would have been a great buy if they had made it the 2nd version with SMW, SMW:Yoshi's Island, and added colourized versions of the SM Land games. And really how hard would that have been?
$20-$30 for what is essentially an SNES ROM dump on a disc… in 2016…
Maybe $30 for a fresh port with the New Super Mario Bros. Wii engine, or a simplified wide-screen port a la Super Mario Maker would be reasonable, but nope… a ROM dump on a disc… without the collector's box/booklet that were originally included to justify its existence as a retail product 5 years ago… for $20-$30.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
You could kind of use this list to predict the future about upcoming games. For example:
. Pikmin 4 (Pikmin 3 will now be purchasable in terms of physical copy, already confirmed)
. Retro's game is a sequel to Tropical Freeze (Returns and Tropical Freeze are in this list, makes sense to finish the trilogy)
. A main series Animal Crossing isn't happening (City Folk to act as a replacement)
@AlliMeadow: Because of the type of games they are. The Pikmin and DKC games both are finite games, there's an end so the replay value comes in the form of harder difficulties and/or getting all collectibles. Animal Crossing is a neverending game series type, where there's never nothing left to do.

People were willing to pay $100 for this...can you really blame Nintendo?

@Grumblevolcano: In case you missed it in the NL article comments somebody mentioned the original tweet being deleted, so I thought it worth a mention here. Guess they want to save it for an official ND reveal. If we don't get an ND before March 11th now I'm going to be annoyed. Last week of February maybe? They need to promote Pokken Tournament amiibo usage. I think TP HD has had enough coverage at this point, for a 8 year old remaster, it doesn't need a ND.

@rjejr: I don't think that will be part of a Direct but just some random announcement made by Nintendo on twitter on something like that. If there's no Direct next week, I think the next one will be in April maybe on April Fools again like last year. The following games/other stuff would've been released if the next one is in April:
. Bravely Second (EU)
. TP HD (Worldwide)
. FE Fates (NA)
. Hyrule Warriors Legends (NA and EU)
. Pokemon RBY on 3DS VC (Worldwide)
. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon (EU)
. Miitomo (Worldwide)
. Nintendo Account and My Nintendo (Worldwide)

It could also mean that they're just reprinting succesful Wii games, and Wii U games that slightly underperformed, mainly Pikmin 3 and Tropical Freeze, as they're both excellent games. Nintendo has been pushing Pikmin this entire generation and the game itself isn't exactly common, so it only makes sense. Although, yeah, it will undoubtedly move a few more Pikmin 4 copies as well. I think it's a combination of both.
Also, I thought Galaxy 2, Returns and AC City Folk already had a Selects version, here in Europe for sure.

I either already own some of these or aren't interested in them (the ones I have are in bold). The only one by far that I'm considering getting is Pikmin 3, as the Pikmin-based game from Nintendo Land piqued my interest (and I was informed that there are many similarities). Besides the mini-game from Nintendo Land, this will be my first foray into the Pikmin universe.
I was mildly interested in Super Mario All-Stars, but I have the original forms of all the Mario games featured on VC and don't feel the need to double-dip just for a few graphical enhancements.
@Trinexx: I'd urge you to get Pikmin 3 for that discounted price. 3 is just as good an entry point to the series as any, and despite being short it is filled to the brim with many more great moments than a lot of 'AAA' tripe that just goes on and on and on and on and on. Short and sweet is the phrase is use to describe Pikmin.
