sorry but that **** makes no no sense and just further excuses how much people let nintendo get away with. xbox live from the original xbox was better than the wii's online system so that is no excuse at all.

and anyone expecting the wii u to be as good as xbox live or PSN should go look at the 3ds which is a step in the right direction but still miserable as hell.

I'm noticing that with the 3DS Nintendo has left enough room to update/upgrade the system's software as time passes. I think because of this we may see some surprises by the end of e3.

Also, I can't say how good the Wii U's online will be because it's not out yet. These fans are just being hopeful that it'll be good and not too hackable like the PSN ;)

well if its like the 3ds where the CC info is stored on the system and not on any of nintendo's servers then they don't have a problem.

but i was mostly responding too bobbicat who said the wii being weak was a factor when the xbox had a better system and that was weaker than the wii.
o
But yeah i know nintendo has room to grow but whoever worked on the eshop UI should be fired. it looks nice but from a usability standpoint its horrid. that's one of those things where nintendo tries to throw their little spin on something and it backfires horribly.

I honestly can't argue against this. I wish they had gone for two rows of icons. I also wished they had kept a few icons in the same place for new stuff, DSiware, videos, etc, rather than having us looking for them. I wouldn't say it's horrible considering I was able to find games quickly anyway, but there's still improvement needed.

What I meant to say is that the Wii hardly had any third party support as being the main factor in their reluctance to upgrade the online system. What if Nintendo did go on and released Nintendo Network on the Wii? Would that alone attract third parties to the system? If it didn't do much to help the system after investing more into providing better service to the Wii and lowers their standing with investors earlier than today, where would Nintendo be now?

The person shouldn't be fired lol
I like the eShop interface, but yes, definitely room for improvement. Besides the UI, it's quicker, cleaner and streaming video is real quick for me.
Also, I like how there's nice background music, something other stores lack. Not that it is a necessity, but it's really a nice touch. Sounds nicer than Wii Shop and more than DSiShop

Agreed. Listening to music while deciding a purchase is really comforting. The PSN doesn't have music which doesn't really make me smile like Nintendo's services do. Not that, that alone, makes me not buy games from the service but like Komic said it's a nice touch.

Also Nintendo Video's theme music is crazy epic. It's so crazy epic that it should be mandatory to have that exact music in every elevator in the world. I also wish it was the Eshop's theme. D:

while music is subjective (i love wii shop music) going from ios or Android markets to the eshop is a pain.

I love the nintendo video music too! It's like a pop techno theme. Somtimes I just open Nintendo video because of the music..... [Gets 3DS]

Actually credit card info is stored in the eShop. When I got my replacement 3DS from Nintendo, I went to the eShop to download a game, and it said my credit card info had been deleted from the eShop.

Well isn't that because it's a new 3DS and not your old one? P.S Do you have "Nintendo DS Demonstration" in your activity log because when I got my 3DS back from repairs it had that in the activity log.

They delete credit card info for security purposes. And no I've never heard of a DS Demonstration.

Pretty much every app on the Wii and 3DS has some charming music that sets the mood. My personal favorite is the Forecast Channel music. I sometimes leave it on at night to fall asleep. :P

I love the menu intro, & bgm for Swapnote.

I also agree about the ui in the eShop being nice, but somewhat annoying/difficult to navigate. Edit: I also love the eShop music, Wii/3DS Mii maker themes, 3DS Mii plaza themes, but not the Wii shop.

Dude, bro. Same. Forecast channel is pretty neat to begin with but the music is so soothing. I might just leave it on tonight so I can fall asleep to it. :)

I love how everything Nintendo has some sort of music rhythm to it. Wii Speak channel was a great example. Everything you clicked on made a sound. Same for the Photo Channel and the Wii Shop. Nothing was silent or generic.

And I noticed Microsoft is doing the same thing with Xbox 360 software. The Avatar creator has background music.

Microsoft has always done that, sort of. When I had a 360 back in 2009 it was very neat making my avatar. If you'd call it that. The PSN is really quiet, too. :o

The DSi Shop's theme song will never be topped. <3

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Wha? I personally don't have a problem with it, but it pales in comparison to the Wii Shop Channel's music. It's so good that they bothered to put the exact same song in Brawl. :)

Games I'm getting: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD

Favorite Game: Super Metroid (SNES) / Mother 2 (SNES) / RuneScape (PC)

I agree. Ever seen the dragon boss in Super Paper Mario? Hilarious. While it gets ready, the loading ring from the Wii Shop Channel appears on its horn w/ the familiar ringing accompanying it.
