If you go to your profile settings on the Wii U menu and set it so you don't agree to send data to nintendo via spotpass, it should fix the freezing.
tried that, didnt work. ive also heard something about setting it to where you can only receive messages in english being a good fix. that didnt work for me either. everything was running smoothly since launch and now i cant even have nintendoland loaded for 30 seconds without it locking up. glad nintendo plans to fix it. ubtil then, i guess ill play my stupid xbox 360 lol.
I personally only had my Wii U freeze up when I was playing Metroid Blast, I was on level 14 I think, and while I was about halfway through the level it just froze, haven't had any other problems with any other Wii U games though.
I don't know if this is a solution, but it appears to have worked for me... Disable your Internet connection. I deleted my WiFi connection so that the Wii U will not automatically connect to the Internet, and the Nintendo Land freezing issue has gone away. I suspect that the issue has something to do with one of the features of the game that uses the Internet.
ok guys try this. it is working for me. and mine was really bad. froze on me like 15 times no more than 30 seconds into starting nintendoland. now since ive applied these changes ive been able to get through like 6 mini-games with no problem. go to your miiverse and go into your settings. allow only messages in english. you have to do the same thing in nintendolands option screen as well, only allow english. try this guys please let me know if its working for you too or if im just kidding myself.
(edit) i should add that the reason supposedly that this works has something to do with wii u not processing foregn language properly/quickly enough.
This happens to me on my Wii. Usually only when a bunch of things are on the screen at once. I have really been wondering with both the Wii U and the Wii's problems, when it freezes, is it hurting the system?

yes, very bad. when it locks-up it dosnt allow your system and hard drive & all that other stuff to slow down like it's supposed to do. it just brings everything to a hault. think what that kind of an abrupt stop could do to a cars engine.
I think people are reading too much into it. The fact that NintendoLand is having these problems the most is probably because that's the one most people are playing and its the one that has the most online functionality. And the online functionality is the big thing here because none of these problems came up before the update released and so an update will surely come out to fix it. The other suspicions and such are just that. We're superstitious creatures, I'm surprised nobody has said that they tapped the side of the console and it fixed it yet
As for unplugging it damaging your console... it probably won't do much harm if any. As long as you don't do it while important data is being written it should be ok.

This has happened to me twice. I hated having to resort to pulling the plug on it to restart the system. Thankfully nothing serious has happened with it. Hopefully there will be a patch to fix the issue.
Wait, can you not hold the powuh button to force shut down? D:

I've had a couple of lock ups in nintendo land, also unsolvable by anything short of unplugging the system. I've also had the same problem while trying to access the system settings. I think the wii u might just be a little unstable, atm.
Hey dudes, I just ran into this issue myself tonight. My system had never locked up at all but in the middle of a multiplayer session of Nintendo Land it froze and made the "vuvuzela" sound. So we unplugged and retried, same thing. We tried once more and it locked up again. It's a widespread issue, so we deleted our internet connection and it worked fine. It's unfortunate, but it seems like it'll be fixed soon.
It happened to me yesterday. But thanks to the people in miiverse, I know the solution. All you have to do is turn off the internet on your Wii U when your playing Nintendo land. It works for me but im not 100% that it will work for you guys.
Im a big fan of Mario games :)
Im also a nintendo nerd :P
Nintendo inpires me a lot o w o
On the Nintendo support forum, someone said that a Nintendo customer-service rep indicated that there will be a patch next month. I hope next month means December 1.

Link please? I've heard lots of people say a patch comes this week, I hope it's not all the way in December...
