Honestly I think they should have added more and more games as DLC (possibly packs). They still could, but it's highly doubtful cuz it's been so long.
As far as a sequel...maybe. They probably still have higher priorities, but I can see it being the same or similar in timetable as Wii Sports Resort coming out to follow up the original Wii Sports (which was also the original game bundled with the Wii, as Nintendoland is the original with the Wii U). Dunno how long of a time gap those games were spaced though.
I think they could combine Nintendo Land with the amiibo concept and create a series of little games that would utilize the amiibos in fun ways. They could release each game digitally and then put the whole set out as a retail release. Nintendo Amiibo Land!

If we go by that then Nintendo Land 2 is coming out in 2016

I found Nintendo Land to be tremendously disappointing. The multiplayer modes were great, particularly Mario Chase and Luigi's Ghost Mansion, which have been great fun at parties, but even these concepts haven't been harnessed to their full potential, as they become repetitive much too quickly due to a lack of variety in gameplay and level design.
The single player modes were hard to get into though, as they felt like simplistic, smart-phone calibre games (with Nintendo calibre polish), giving it a stigmatic "tech demo" vibe. I think I would have felt ripped off if I had paid full price for this, but as a pack-in title, it's a good teaser of what the Wii U can do.
I would love to see a new Nintendo Land that can use two Gamepads, or up to eight controllers a la Super Smash Bros. I love the gamepad when it is used for multiplayer, but even Nintendo haven't been utilising it well (e.g. Mario Kart 8/Super Mario 3D World only supporting 4 player local multiplayer -.-). 5 player multiplayer was THE most exciting feature about the Wii U (second to third party support, though we all know how that ended) and even Nintendo have been neglecting the Wii U's enormous potential.
I wonder how well Nintendo Land sold outside of bundles? I picked it up, but really only because it came with the Luigi Wii Remote. The remote by itself was $40 and packed with Nintendo Land it was $50, so...
But yeah, I dunno. Did it really sell well enough on its own to warrant a sequel?
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Looks like a half baked game to me. The concept is great, but like they made it in rush just to have something to show how the gamepad can be used. And I think it should have been a free game included in every console.
Now with a new Mario Party, I don't see a place for this game, unless they improve it a lot.

To the mk8 multi: take a minute and think about that. 8-way split screen? That would be terrible. All of them would be so tiny. Now, if they re-made double dash, or created a sequel, then it could be possible by having two players to a kart, thus still having 4-way split screen
