Well I think Nintendo did that well too. X, Bayonetta, and Devil's Third all take a much more mature tone. Granted though, they don't have much that's super gritty. What's funny though is that Sony had the opposite problem. I'm pretty sure half the games they showed involved zombies of some sort, and there was virtually nothing that wasn't ultra dark and gritty outside of LBP.
Pretty stunning show. I'm still annoyed with a couple of things:
no sign of life for SMTXFE, no info on a EU release (or not) .. so I'm just gonna wait despite my burning desire to get me some MK8 ..
3DS getting the silent (Vita) treatment now or what, anything new for this year ... or at least the next ? anything ?
What about Bayonetta 2 e-shop being sold without Bayonetta 1 (retail) included .. who comes up with these "let's just put up arbitrary and anachronstic barriers to annoy a few people ideas" ? The same think-tank that thought region-locking is the way to go, or blocking EU credit cards from the U.S. e-shop to love with people as much as possible is a good idea ... Jesus Ninty you are a hard company to love despite your lovely games
Ninty M I G H T be back, what do we really know about Zelda, about Starfox even about Sploon (love the idea, if its gyro controls only, I'm not interested though!) I liked ALBW worlds quite a bit but it was horrifingly easy to the point that it was distracting from the enjoyment of the game.

Weeelllll no, I got little to no interest in Itagakis newest, it had no Nintendo vibe at all, Bayonetta is a given but again this is as much a Platinum/Clover game as they come, not much Ninty vibe there either (more than Itagaki though) which leaves you with X, which is gonna be a great jRPG no doubt but nothing that wouldn't feel right at home on the PS3/4 for example. I acknowledge they are trying and their studious are properly very busy with the more "mainstream" stuff, but still at least one game (yeah .. Metroid we all want it don't we?) would be nais in that regard, Just one. "Mature" is not really what I meant is what I'm saying, esp. not if you equate mature with either gore or "hardcore".

Those were either known for quite some time or already ought (in Japan) forever. Also I appreciate SMB on the 3DS but I'm not sure about the ... why. I mean the WIiU version looks superior (duh) and they need the Wii U to sell. And that is subjective of course but I cannot get excited about yet another pokemon or sonic game or life sim or harvest moon game. But yeah you are right about Persona Q, but you gotta forgive, sometimes I slipp into PAL-release-thinking-mode which by default drops all Atlus games So yeah there is always Persona, I have to give you that, but I wonder you are not bothered a bit, by not a single NEW gaming being annouced so far ?

naa I have both systems. I need to catch up on 3ds games anyway and I expect a direct in 2 months soooo. They maybe out in Japan but I haven't played them. You? nnnaaaa but we got release dates/time frames and I'm happy about that. And look at all those 3rd party's on 3ds........ good stuff.

I hear you, it'S all down to taste, I'm excited for Persona Q (although we just had 2! EQ games) and maybe just maybe I could get into FF Theatrythm (I actually enjoyed the demo for the previous one). And you see ... you pointed out the system might be dead in response to my VIta remak, that wasn't my point ALl the other 3rd party games ... great for those who can get into them, for me 3DS thrives on games like FE;SMT, Mario 3DL, OOT/SF3D, Pushmo/Crashmo etc. Maybe I was to unspecific, of course there are games in 2014, just nothing really exciting, and like I said, the fact remains about the NEW games that were announced

WEll I got both of them too (just got Luftrauers pretty amazing game ) but you're "must be dead" comment kinda struck a note with me there. Maybe I read to much into it though, still there was enough VIta basing to go around anyways .. for exactly the kind of line up you just described in the last posts of yours!

Splatoon was definitely the most interesting game they showed. Looked like a ton of fun too. Devil's Third looks like a cool concept the way it is combining a bunch of different play styles but the question is how seamless will the controls be switching between the different styles.
Mario Maker looks very fun as well. Looking forward to that one as well as Yoshi, Kirby and Toad games.
Really good mix of games shown from Nintendo. Looking forward to getting more details on the stuff they showed off over the next couple of days.
Heck I'd praise Nintendo if they took a dumb on stage. Gotta be pretty ballsy to do that when your sales are in the sh***er.

Regarding all platforms, there might be more games announced later at E3. I think the Nintendo main event was focused mainly on Wii U to get that platform a boost. Perhaps Sony used the same approach for PS4/Vita at the Sony conference?
