Well according to our manager at Game. He seems to think Nintendo may be looking to pull out of the Bricks and Mortar race and will be looking to go direct. Not sure if it will be true or not but it's hard enough to get Wii U games as it is.

Given Nintendo's lack of sales success in the UK (and very arguably, perhaps Europe in general), I wouldn't be 100% surprised if they did something like this. The way so much stock is just sitting in GAME store's across the country cause no one gives a damn about it probably means Nintendo's losing a fair amount of cash with the physical game sales.

That said, I don't believe it myself. Seems like too big a move to make unannounced, and to be honest, it might actually be worse for them as far as awareness goes (if games are only sold via the eShop and online, they're only really visible to existing Nintendo fans).

Who on earth goes in Game anyway? Overpriced beyond belief. Only clueless parents shop there.

Didn't I hear that Amazon were cancelling Wii U pre-orders? Although, to be fair, they haven't cancelled my Zelda and XCX pre-orders. Does this mean they are pulling out of bricks and mortar or all non-direct sales whatsoever? Like, you can only get the games through their website? If it's the later then that would be pooooooooooooooooooooooop. If it's just the physical shops...I don't care. I've never bought any wii u stuff in a shop, I've barely even seen any for sale.

A low level employee at Game thinks Nintendo will stop releasing games in shops.

Amazon cancelled Amiibo orders due to not having enough stock and this literally means nothing, it's a random person with a thoery will no infomation to support it at all.

The only other place that I can think of that sells them is Argos

I could see that happening, after all the markup from online to retail means I'd never buy anything but used Wii games at GAME anyway - even download codes are cheaper to buy online from GAME. The only reason I buy download codes from GAME is because they're significantly cheaper than the eShop and honestly I cannot see any reason why Nintendo would provide any codes beyond physical cards for retail sales - I find it hard to believe GAME has that loyal a customer base that they wouldn't just buy games from the eShop if that dried up.

As long as I can still buy them from Amazon, I could care less about brick and mortar stores for anything technological.

Well, I'm calling BS on this. The last rumour I heard from Game staff never came true, and that was to do with the eShop adopting the points system like the Wii shop.

If game offered better pricing on all their games and Merchandise I'm sure Nintendo would do better. Amiibo pricing in game is bad.The only reason I would buy them from Game is to make sure I don't get a bad looking Amiibo if there are plenty to choose from which there aren't really.I want MetaKnight and I can't find one anywhere.

I felt Gamestation was the significantly worse store. Sure GAME are overpriced but at least they provided you with good quality whereas Gamestation was filled with faulty goods. I even had to take back brand new copies of all of the Halo games because they kept on coming up with errors (note of course this doesn't include Master Chief Collection as I don't own an XB1)!

My local Indie still gets all the Wii U titles they ask for. If they keep on getting them then I'm cool with that. In fact it would allow GAME to stop hogging all the Limited Editions and allow other stores a piece of the pie.

But yeah, as everyone zoe said. My jaw literally hit the floor when I saw them selling MK8 and SM3DW at £49.99!

I would like them to or just online / direct - it would mean the eshop pricing could be more competitive.

Why not ? The retailers margin is wasted money. (What Amazon takes is more reasonable).

To be more competitive it would need more competition not less which still has no bearing on the eshop. Amazon is the worst buisness model possible since it's based on cash flow rather than not profits which it doesn't make.

Doesn't have to be Amazon just any of the other retailers that sell at a reasonable margin. Without the wasteful high street retailers the eshop price could be set to be the same.
