I've never actually played those games and I don't think they sold all that well. Maybe Nintendo attributed their poor performance with the Banana Wars thing and decided after them to remove themselves far away from King K Rool. Or Maybe it was just Retro thinking King K Rool was Rare's thing...
I think the exclusion of the Kremlings and King K. Rool was Nintendo's choice.

Meh, I kind of have a special place in my heart for retro graphics. It would be nice to see some Wii/GCN games upscaled - but with something like dolphin you don't even have to do that much to make Wii games shine in HD. If they had just made the WiiU capable of upscaling it would be perfect.

Once again: only an American could think the banana wars was important enough to even come up with a "conspiracy theory" around it. Seriously, the rest of the world (well, aside from like Haiti and Puerto Rico), really couldn't care less about it. I doubt most people at Rare are/ were even aware it was a thing.

Rare always has weird references in their games. The alien race in Perfect Dark was Hitler's master race. And there's rumors going around that Hitler believed that they were the master race because they were the closest relatives to our alien ancestors. But that's getting a bit off topic...
