To summarize: PS4 and Xbox One have very little slated to come out in the remainder of 2014. With the momentum already generated by Mario Kart 8, Nintendo now has an opportunity to do some catching up this year and turn Wii U round.
There is a lot of big titles coming out on PS4 and XB1 that aren't coming to the Wii u. Have you seen October? I don't see how that can be classed as very few releases. To be honest the Wii U games simply aren't big enough to compete with PS4/XB1's line up for the winter
@Datasun_7
Well, E3 isn't here yet, and alot of games people are waiting for were announced last year, which was one of the complaints people had about Wii U. Smash Bros, X, and Bayonetta will come out this year, and Nintendo will have to release something after those. I'm talking the bigger titles, not the eShop only, even though there will probably be plenty of those.

Alien: Isolation
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Driveclub
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
NBA 2K15
Tropico 5
How will the Wii U ever compete with, Lord of the Rings? And, NBA! All it has around the same time is Sonic Boom, SSB4, and Bayonetta 2!
@DonnyKD don't forget Fifa 15 ,battlefield hard line and Evolve. All big hitters. @Scar392 I see what you are saying but I can't see how those games can rival the mainstream appeal of the games on PS4 and XB1
Proud Samus main for ssb4!
Hyped for Capt. Toad, Yoshis woolly world, Mario maker and splatoon in the first half of 2015

@DonnyKD its probably the difference in continent xp Fifa is incredibley popular over here. Also Evolve is made by the same studio as LFD 2 so its bound to be hyped up by release. I'm certainly excited about it

I wouldn't cal FIFA a big hitter, and I definitely wouldn't call Evolve a big hitter.
Madden and NBA are really only popular in America. Everywhere else, FIFA is the big hitting sports series. It regularly outsells both Madden and NBA combined in worldwide sales.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Nintendo's had plenty of opportunities handed to them, but barely take advantage of it.
They had the entire 2012/2013 to their control, but they didn't try hard enough, and you know what they say. History is bound to repeat itself.

Out of those, Alien and Dragon Age are the only ones that interests me. And even that excitement is lessened by the fact that they are following Dragon Age 2 and Colonial Marines... Shadow of Mordor just looks like Ass Creed, in Middle Earth. Nothing too exciting.
Batman was pushed back to next year (my only incentive to go next-gen) so really, the Wii U doesn't have that much competition until 2015 - That is also the year where (hopefully) Zelda and X are coming out, so it's got some punch left there as well!

Both games are also coming to PS360, so you don't even have to upgrade you console if you don't want to. Dragon Age is the only interesting currently announced PS4 game to me, so yeah, just gonna buy it on PS3...

Yeah and so is Middle Earth surprisingly! Though if i was going to, i'd probably get them on next gen consoles... By the way, it puzzles me why, a YEAR into the new consoles' like life cycles, they still make most games for the older consoles.

It's because those new consoles offer literally nothing new.
Sure, you can get the game to look like 10% better.
You can share something out of the game on Facebook.
You can use a speaker on the remote like the Wii did in 2006.
That's it basically.
Nintendo has a massive chance to present a game changer this year with NFP. If Nintendo can handle a cooperative figure business that coincides with their widely recognizable franchises, we could end up seeing a wildly successful Wii U.
Also, for the record, why the hell hasn't Namco-Bandai or Konami done anything at all like this. You know, the two other major game companies that have large focus on toys?

I would venture to say that the PS4 and Wii U in Japan seem to be mirroring the PS3 versus Wii in Japan, with Nintendo dominating the sales charts while Sony cried tears of sadness over the PS3's first two years of epic floppage.
....
Right now the PS4 has no software making big waves in Japan; and obviously the Japanese have no interest in the PS4's marketable hype that was generated against Microsoft's anti-consumer DRM policies that were originally introduced for the Xbox One.
......
What we have is the PS4 dominating in North America and the EMEA markets based on hype, but doing rather poorly in Japan with just over half a million units working as the install base."
I guess no one was willing to buy a Xbox One to play Watch_Dogs? That's quite a huge gap between PS4 and XBO considering that the same game dropped for both systems. PS4 got nearly 4x the sales! Professional analysis: XBO = cancer.
The XBO may be waiting until towards the end of next year to see a boost in sales.
Yeah but when the PS4 does have stuff they want they will buy it (How any sensible people should behave).
Agreed......PS4 has a pretty weak library currently. I guess my buying habits mirror the Japanese. Sony needs games badly IMO and if everything they show at E3 are 2015 games it may be awhile before I think about getting one.
