The game I envisioned when the Wii U was announced: an open world 3D platformer/adventure with local co-op, one on the gamepad and one on the TV, so you could be exploring different areas before coming back together to tackle something. Obviously this could use Mario and Luigi but in my head it's called Wario Bros. and Wario and Waluigi use different hats, some permanent for Metroidvania style progression, some temporary to pair with specific environments. And using those bros. would allow for more varied (weirder) environments than we're used to. Tangentially, this is why I was disappointed in SM3DW initially, though the game does what it does beautifully, it's not what I craved.
Paper Mario, in the vein of the first two.
F-Zero, even just GX HD,
Super Mario Sunshine HD.
Metroid, Prime 4 would be cool, but I really liked the controls in Metroid Blast.
I never played Pokemon but all the fans seem to want a main series entry on a console, so...
