I just got back from best buy. I choose to play Mario Kart.
The Bad: Only one Kiosk? The line was so long, I got there an hour earlier and still didn't get to play until 2:30. This was ridiculous on Nintendo's part.
Nintendo could have also had a screen next to the kiosk showing all the trailers from e3, missed opportunity.
The good: The lines were long and it showed people were really interested in the Wii U, at least Mario Kart and they were willing to wait 5 hrs to play it.
Mario Kart looked great, the controls was the same and great as usual but the graphics were really nice. I can't wait for this game. Day one purchase.
Donkey Kong: I have no clue what people are hating on it. It isn't cinematic and epic like Metroid but they game looks like a load of fun and I love the camera angles.
Mario 3d World: It looked like a lot of fun, people that played were having a blast and I can't wait to play it with my wife and friends. It isn't Galaxy but that doesn't mean it can't be as much fun. I can't wait to see more of the creativity they will pour into the game. The see through pipes might seem small but it was really interesting. I am getting it for sure.
Zelda: Same old Wind Waker but in HD. If you haven't played it before you are in for a treat.

I guess its because people wanted retro to do Metroid again or some other series, and were expecting them to announce one of those games instead. :/
Doesn't bother me though.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I came twice both times I decided to play Donkey Kong Country Tropical Breeze
The visuals are much more colourful. It looks really great.
The 2.5D Camera is both excellent, and somewhat loses the point to Donkey Kong Country. One thing that was great was that the camera moved left to right. It looked like you were looking at a canvas. This one doesn't want to go that same way, it gives the levels more exploration value. At the same time, it leaves you at awe at how great it still looks.
The music is astounding. Water gameplay has a relaxing tone, the first level has another well done Jungle Japes remake, and the boss level has a strange, yet fitting rock theme.
I was going to play 3D World, however time was up. And I couldn't have played. Ce la vie.
As for loot I got:
A foam Luigi hat. Cheap yet stylish
Animal Crossing 3DS Sticker. It looks really nice and it resembles the box art
Mario Kart Racing Flag. Its just a flag, with Mario on it.
Animal Crossing New Leaf Pins. My favorite loot that I got. 4 pins in one package.

They only had the flag, the Luigi coin, Luigi hat and Wii U neck strap. Every got the strap and you have to choose between the rest. I took the coin. it looks really nice. Hopefully it turns into a collectible at some point. DK was really pretty, I am sure it is going to be fun and if you love platformers, the Wii U is sure to get.
I so wish I wouldn't have had work today I would have totally gone again and got tons more footage, unfortunately productive societal needs come first :/. But I did get some footage on its first day, if anyone would like to see that and the analysis check out me and my buddies channel http://www.youtube.com/TheRetroSmash
In short, I should have liked, I do confess, to have had the lightest license of a child, and had been man enough to know the value. - A Christmas Carol
I played MK8 and loved it, but I also thought DK looked fabulous!
I started off with a Luigi hat, but some little kid was bawling when they ran out, so I gave him mine, and then somehow I wound up with 2 Mario Kart flags, 2 Luigi coins, plus 3 stickers. Went to the separate Animal Crossing meetup and they gave us the 3DS sticker. I also won a Luigi pin and Wii U screen cloth from the prize wheel at Nintendo's Cross-Canada Tour this morning. What a day!
I got to play Mario Kart. Man that was so much fun, and the visuals were fantastic! Certainly looking forward to it early next year.
When I walked in and saw the line of people, all with their 3DSs out, I almost wanted to shout, "My people!" Also got to talk a good while with several of them about the upcoming titles; it was very nice.
Unfortunately the freebies were limited to one choice per person so I was only able to get the Luigi Hat (I would have gotten the coin instead, but they were all gone by the time I got there).

Drive an hour and a half and didn't get any loot, they were already out. Also, only got to try the Mario title but it was fun (not the epic 3D title I wanted but fun). Saw Mario Kart, it looked beautiful. So did Wind Waker but that one annoyed me a bit because people kept picking it; it was probably the longest demo and was the only one that was single player so it slowed down the line. Just for a remake. Anyways, didn't get to see any DKC, but hope it was good...
Still, Mario multiplayer was fun at least for the chaos. Tried two stages, the first one having clear pipes and I kept trying to explore but people were running too fast. The second stage had the cat bell and I picked Toad and ended up being the fastest character, so I decided just to climb and run like crazy and forget the exploration. No one was keeping up that time but it was amusing, the cat suit is fun.

I went to wednesday's played Mario 3D world and thought it was fun. I think I'll like the single player experience more because the camera won't be on rails like it is in multiplayer. All in all, everything they offered looked good. Even though it looked good, the only game I won't be picking up at launch is Donkey Kong, mostly because I'm not all that interested in 2D platformers. They frustrate me too much. I hope Nintendo does this again next year.
Even though I only live about a half hour away from the closest location to me, I didn't make it on either Wednesday or Saturday. Just had too much things going on..
