... I really appreciate that all few weeks the president of Nintendo steps into the public with his cute jinglish and straight suit to inform us about what's coming. As a long time xbox-gamer I can only positively appreciate such a service to the customer and to all of you who complain about no games in Jan/Feb or general games coming slow for the new console, I can only say: It was like this forever, the launch line-up may or may not be of everyone's taste so that's no real argument but until the big hitters get rolling out it usually takes up to a year minimum on ANY new hardware but with a Ninty-console you at least know what's planned and what's coming.

Im very impressed.

My 3DS Top 10 (no particular order): Code of Princess, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Castlevania Lords of Shadows, Fire Emblem Awakening, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario Sticker Star, New Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Land 3D, Gunman Clive.

Absolutely. Unfortunately when you followed the XBOX360s life (which I did) you never had that kind of transparency about what is going on or where the things are heading, I wonder if MS and Sony might follow suit after Nintendos example with their new consoles.

The nintendo directs are mini E3 presentations, E3 will have their most wanted titles so this is a nice feature to have.

This Nintendo Direct has to be one of the best Nintendo has ever held. Come on, to announce a new Zelda and Yoshi game at one? Didn't expect that in a million years.

This recent one was amazing, I admit, and it was all without a quirky meme too.

I was amazed at how much stuff that we were mostly unaware of was presented today (the Fire Emblem/Shin Megami Tensei crossover definitely caught me off guard). Heck, Iwata even gave Smash Bros. a mention! That was unexpected. And he even said that it will be shown at E3, very nice news indeed! But there is one downside to today's wonderful eye candy; there likely won't be anymore spectacular NDs (perhaps barring an upcoming 3DS focused one) until the aforementioned E3 rolls around, since Nintendo will obviously want to conceal the big heavy-hitters for the time when the competitions bring out their new consoles, so they can show off the Wii U's amazing upcoming library and thus steal away sufficient attention.

Having the CEO of the company give a presentation like this is just so brilliant and does so many things. As a system owner from day 1 I get to be hyped about the news, but I also get to feel like part of the "Nintendo family": Iwata-san addressing the concerns of the fans on-camera indicates he has nothing to hide and he's not trying to play us. And all the teases and developer interviews reinforces the image of Nintendo as a massive entertainment company - they're not just some games company with a cheap console, they're also big enough to publish titles from other companies for their system.

The Miiverse app plans also show a Nintendo which is confident enough to say: we know you have iPads and smartphones and that's okay because we want you to make Wii U a part of your life beyond the living room. I'm very much looking forward to a Miiverse app for my iPad so I can check the buzz when I'm at work (on break, naturally).

Overall it leaves me feeling great that I bought a Wii U on day one and that I'm continuing my gaming journey with Nintendo, so mission accomplished Mr. Iwata!

I had video streaming issues, so I missed most of the announcements, and the ones I did "see" were very choppy for some reason, but I plan on rewatching it. What I did see though? A company that has failed to plan. They apparently have no clue on how to fix their console, and tell users to wait until "Spring" for the next patch? Or, are they planning on smaller patches before then, to actually FIX the system so it functions properly?

I like the system, and I like hearing about new games, but I want the system to function properly and in a timely fashion. Nintendo is apparently STILL selling Wii Us that don't function properly when the console freezes. Is that like Microsoft selling Xbox 360's after knowing about the RROD issues, and trying to deny it?

Also, the beginning (was actually streaming properly) being about Miiverse? It just seemed really odd it was a good portion at the beginning about a feature all Wii U owners should know about by now.......
Makes me wonder if their customer service reps are getting a lot of calls on it.

You have a good point. This is the kind of thing fans go crazy over, yet this does not commonly happen. Those same fans better enjoy this excitement while it lasts, because eventually the cycle will go back into a mysterious and speculative slump again.

Nintendo nailed this. It was easily better than their two past E3's combined.

Best thread ever

I actually think that Yoshi game kinda took me by suprise a little bit because when i 1st saw it, the 1st that thng popped into my head was "Yoshi: Epic Yarn?", so i'm not even just sure just what to make of this 1.

Ehh, you just have to give it time for them to fix the issue, that's probably why we're getting part ofa fix in Spring and the other in the summer. Also, don't know if you rewatched the whole thing, but just in case, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MzG6lDA1A0&feature

Denying RROD is actually what everone did, including the fanbase and Microsoft. As for the beggining, they were just trying to say how important Miiverse is for everyone, including themselves.

I don't necesserily think theyw ere denying it. they just rather had no idea what was going on because they seemed to be quite a mixture of factors that could play into it and couldn't target exactly what was coming from where in order to fix it, which is most likely why it took them so long until the slim models came out.
