I think they will as it's very important to build hype for the coming year for the coming Christmas season. Particularly with so many great/big games like are coming in 2015. There are around 12 titles known, so Nintendo very likely could be planning a major title every month, which is a big deal on a Nintendo platform, which typically go many months without a major release. If nothing else, give release dates or months for the 12 or so 2015 games we know of.
Yeah, WarioWare DIY was great, but since it was a DS game, there were limitations. If they made another, they could easily use the internet/SD card to use audio and images.
With that said, we really haven't heard ANYTHING from this developer in a long time, and Game & Wario was done by Intelligent Systems, so...yeah I'm wondering what's going on with the other guys.
I was looking back over last December's Nintendo Direct (18th December 2013) and they revealed a fair amount of surprises. Hence I think they could do something similar this month. Back then Hyrule Warriors, Dr. Luigi and NES Remix were revealed for the first time with the latter being available directly after the Direct, Sonic Lost World got Yoshi DLC and Wii Sports Club got Golf (also available same day).
What surprises do you think will appear? I'm thinking Mario Kart 8 free battle arenas DLC pack, SNES Remix and possibly N64 VC.
I hope there is a December Direct this month because the November Direct didn't show much new content. I'm sure that Yarn Yoshi and Mario Party are pretty close to release; they always mention these games when advertising amiibo. I think we should be getting some Nintendo news during the Video Game Awards 2014 but nothing major.
As for surprises, I will try to be realistic: SNES Remix, DKC 1-3 VC, Duck Hunt VC, and possibly Resort games in Wii Sports Club. I can't think of any other small downloads that could be released...
They'll announce 'Cranky Kong PRIME: Killer Chimps From Outer Space' at the VGA's!
Retro were so torn about what project to do next they couldn't make their mind up, so they just settled on a 'Metroid X Donkey Kong X Star Fox' crossover. Andross will be the antagonist. Watch this space..

...I'd buy that.
"Would you believe... they put a chimp on the moon?" System seller
Nintendo Direct (December 18, 2013), we got Club Nintendo Year of Luigi figurine! This year, perhaps we will get an exclusive amiibo on Club Nintendo. Make it happen Santa.
They might also connect a section of a Direct with the Captain Toad release. It's so strange that they release the Captain Toad game, say it will support amiibos, but they don't say what the amiibo will do. The nature of the Captain Toad game is basically to not return to a level when you've found/solved everything on a level. So why would a player be interested in an amiibo for the game, if the player already has completed the game? That would be a perfect thing to talk about in a Direct after the Captain Toad release.
Some people think the Amiibo support will come to Captain Toad at the same time as some DLC will release. The Amiibo function will be used in all levels but for people that might have already completed levels the DLC levels will allow for new experiences using Amiibo
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
