I don't know. I would hope so, but we'll just have to wait and see. Frankly I'm still waiting to find out how amiibos work with Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, seeing as how it's right around the corner.
Amiibo support won't be a thing for that game until 2015 though.
They are sponsoring (or something like that) the new Game Awards aren't they? We there will be games announced there, maybe Nintendo will be one of them?
Reggie is part of the Game Awards advisory board, just as there are representatives from MS, Sony, EA, Ubi, etc have. I think the Game Awards show is just an award show.
There were small announcement trailers (from various companies) in the past game awards shows (it's where Nintendo officially revealed Cranky as a playable character in DKC:TF, for example), but as they're completely restructuring the event, I'm not sure if they'll still do that.
Its going to have reveals according to Geoff.
WAT!

Still, it's probably about time to start giving out details.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

I think a December Direct is kinda pointless. Save it for January.
I don't think it's pointless. If it's reasonably early in December, showing (or just remind) what you have in store for the next year might move people on the fence to buy the product for Christmas.
Where did you get that?
I kind of would like a Direct - maybe not very meaty, but it's always nice with a bit of 'seasonal greeting' Then they can save the really good stuff for Januray, though I don't see why they would..

I feel like the last Direct talked about early next year games and I doubt there is much more information to show. If they haven't sold people on buying a Wii U this holiday yet then I can't imagine what will change people's mind (at least anything reasonable)
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

The only Wii U titles they mentioned for 2015 in the November Direct were Splatoon (Q2), Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Feb or 2nd half 2015, depending on region) and Xenoblade Chronicles X (Q2 in Japan). That leaves about 9-10 known 2015 titles that they can talk about, or just mention in an 2015 reel.
When visiting non-Nintendo-specific gaming sites, the general awareness of future Wii U releases seem very low even among Wii U users, and even if people are aware of MK8, Bayo 2, Smash and Captain Toad. From an European perspective, I doubt that Nintendo would like to end this year with Super Smash U releasing today, total radio silence until Jan 02 2015 when Captain Toad releases, and then nothing known until Splatoon somewhere in the spring.
I could see one since we've always gotten directs in the even numbered ones. Plus they could go over Mario maker and Yoshi and whatnot. If it happens I'd say the 9th or 10th.

I think a December Nintendo Direct is pretty likely. Gives 'em a chance to discuss Mario Maker and Yarn Yoshi, as well as Mario Party 9 and various other games that got lost in the Super Smash Bros/Pokemon rush. Okay, I don't see a massive announcement being made here (the biggest thing I can think that's even remotely possible would be a proper Wario plaformer or a Metroid game), but hey, it'd be a nice way to talk about what's coming after Smash Bros and the likes.
