You do know that Sega was the first to bring 3D gaming, right?
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
@Sony_70
That's an opinion though. I genuinely think Nintendo games have better gameplay than anything Sony puts out.
Metacritic scores don't matter at all, either. It's a KINDA relevant source in some cases, but I've found alot of scores to be pretty BSie so I've come to not rely on them as much when deciding to buy a game I'm on the fence about.
I understand Sony puts out quite a few games, but 3 Sony games aren't as good IMO as 1 Nintendo game. I've played alot of PS3 games, and I'd rather play COD or Battlefield anyday over Killzone.
@AlexSays
I wasn't even talking to or about you at all, so...
Also, the remote play type game play was actually done by Sega first as far as home consoles go, I think. They teamed up with SNK for Neo Geo to Dreamcast connectivity. Also, GCN had remote play with GBA to GCN.
i.e. Four Sword Adventures.
Sega and Nintendo basically did alot way before Sony even thought about anything. Sega died, but I think Nintendo was smart for teaming up with Sega, because it automatically is nostalgic in a sense that once rivals are now working with each other.
I just think that Sony takes to many clues abou the industry from Microsoft and Nintendo.

None of the other consoles can touch Nintendo for platform games period. That's where Nintendo really shines.
Mostly opinion, although it is hard to argue that Nintendo doesn't do them very well. My favorite first-party platformer this gen was actually LBP2. (Also the most creative and original, IMO)
Edit: Sorry, Scar. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think there's any debating with you. No offense intended.

I think LBP was an OK game, but the physics were all jacked up, and there's a certain point where you can tell the game worlds aren't unique from the people that made the game.
The cave levels in Pikmin 2 were so boring because they were randomized with parts that fit together any which way.
If Mario 3D World let you build levels, I'm pretty sure it would be better than anything LBP could do, but as of now, neither of those games have that options.
EDIT: LBP felt like a game heavily reliant on cosmetics over the actual platforming part of the game.
I can't see anything ever coming any where near any of the Mario platform games. Not that I've ever played anyway. LBP games are good but not a patch on Mario's , as you say my opinion obviously. Platform games are also very scarce on PS and Xbox as everyone is into driving and shooting games mainly, they have forgotten the platform market.
My Wii U has rejuvenated my faith in Nintendo. Big thumbs up...

At least for PS, anyways (I can't say I am personally impressed with the 360's platformer lineup, TBH), sorry, but that is simply a false stereotype. To name a few very high-quality first-party Sony platformers, LBP, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper. Granted, I think Nintendo overall generally does better in the genre. Out of my 25+ PS3 games, only 2 are FPS, 3 are third-person (Uncharted), and 1 is a racer.
I've only just recently purchased the Wii U, I'm a big Nintendo fan but have been glued to my 360 and PS3 since their release dates playing mostly shooting games like Cod and Battlefields amongst many others. I waited for a while to purchase the Wii U thinking it didn't have a lot to offer me expect for Mario U, but I was so wrong and so glad I now own one. Here's looking forward to the future of gaming with it for a few years to come.

Well, I can see I'm probably not going to change your mind. But I think if you looked a little further, you would find an amazing and highly-varied library like I did. But, if you want to only play shooters / racers, it's not my problem either way. You're allowed to have your opinions, but I think you're really overlooking the vast majority of the library. All I'm gonna say.

Despite that Sony will have released six platformers between its platformers this year.(makes nintendo look really bad in hindsight)
Objectively Sony's first are just as big and if not bigger than Nintendos. Even the talent is less of an opinion and a fact based on critical and commercial reception. There's huge difference in your personal preference and the objective preference I'm not a big fan of those moe somebody call chri Hansen style games but becuase I don't like them doesn't mean they don't have merits. .

no sorry I didn't mean I only buy or play shooters/ racers on ps3 or Xbox. I own near to 200 games between each system and all sorts of games. Some of them being the odd platform title, but none compare to Mario platform games.

My opinion is that the Ps3 and 360 are for the serious online console gamer. Where Nintendo's systems are for the kid inside us. Nothing to fancy or flash but just sheer clean fun.

So the forum goes to poop during my absence lol
Ok lets begin with- @pesty : even I can't say that the ps n xbox don't have any games-- skyrim is to me one of the best games in the world. Gears of war.. god of war.. uncharted.. assasins.. metal gear..lbp..resident evil @8BitSamurai : all "classics" in my book lol @Sony_70: the reason sony will release 6 platformers before N is because N actually takes the time to make their games good!
The term platform is too vague.. when I hear platform I think 2D side scrolling - mario. Rayman.
And I think Ubisoft is today's Capcom back in its prime (80-90's)
Rayman is unbelievable
Halo is metroid prime
Assasins- metal gear - the whole third person genre is thanks to metal gear and resident evil

Sony takes time to make their games good too. Halo also came out before Metroid Prime so according to logic if one copied the other then Prime copied Halo,
So the suit.. plot.. and very existence is metroid before prime @jaz007
The idea of space, aliens, and those suits predates Metroid by far, so if you want to play it from that angle Metroid is very unoriginal and a copy of other things.
