It's moments like todays mini direct that make me proud to be a gamer. Not just any gamer but a Nintendo gamer. Nintendo seems to have discovered the internet this year and is putting it to use extensively.. repeatedly.. and its not going away.
Nintendo Directs have become the virtual messiah to us fanboys that are eager to see what our beloved videogame company is up to.
Today's announcement of Earthbound shocked everyone. Yes it was announced before but RELEASED TODAY!
Nintendo continues to suprise us... I.e. Zelda 3ds.. megaman ssb. Then megaman 1-4 release on the vc same day.!!
Very exciting to be a nintendo fan right now. The games are rolling in... its time to turn it around...
Like only Nintendo can!!

Yeah, Nintendo Directs are really nice! You feel more closer and well connected to the company through them as they let you in on the latest news of whatever they're up to, whether it be new game announcements, updates on the development of previously announced games, and even new events and special offers!

I wouldn't say the games are rolling in because of a few VC titles. I also don't see what are so surprising about those things, they seemed kind of expected to me.

well who buys a nintendo console for 3rd party games? generally, you buy nintendo consoles for the 1st party games. the other companies however are for 3rd party games, so although ninten-does what others don't, other companies also do what ninten-don't.

I don't know man, have you seen Sony's first-party in the recent years? It rivals Nintendo's.

Sony wishes it had as many franchises as Nintendo.

Considering they released the most exclusives last gen, they seem to be doing just fine.

Having more doesn't mean much when you utilize 20% of them.

Yep, those Nintendo directs can do strange things to a person's heart, like make it beat faster or stop for a second.

For a moment there I thought you were going to talk about how Nintendo always lead to way in innovation like with the rumble pack, dual-screens with touch, motion control, Pokemon, Brain Age, etc. This is cool too.

A dying animal struggles, thrashes and howls in protest as its life torn from it. To see this in action, watch Animal Planet. The same thing happens when a video game is or isn't released. To see this in action, stay here.

You're one person. This is awesome! I'm with you on the excitement, OP.

Well there certainly is a lot to look forward to starting with Pikmin 3 and many games to follow including Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Scribblenauts, and many more in this year alone. It's as if NOW Wii U is actually getting started.

Nintendo should release a Feng Shui game to help balance Nintendo gamers highs and lows.

Wow, Nintendo fans must be really easy to pleases, if all it takes is releasing an 20 year old game for $10, while Sony gives out free games from last year.
If Nintendo was anything like Sony, we're be playing Gamecube games on our 3DS, not dated Gameboy and NES games.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Bunch of jealousy going on. Hate. Lol
Nintendo leads the industry in innovation...
Revolutionized gaming..
Examples: motion controls - later followed by and imitated by sony with move and microsoft with kinect
Now second screen gaming.. ds 3ds wiiu
Sony and microsoft are rushing to mimic - ala smartglass and vita
Nintendos ips are far better than the comp.
There is no competition
The fact that they can rerelease a 20yr game and get fans excited says it all...
Not to mention (but really am)
That everybody is trying to play the rerelease game also
Thank you for the love

Well, at least you've done us the favor and self-identified as a Nintendo fanboy so we don't have to bother with any objective, rational discussion.

I'm going to be that guy, so sorry. I don't mean to offend or be rude.
1) That, or opinions.
2) Their most recent "innovation" would be the gamepad, which may very well be innovative, but is unproven on the market right now.
3 / 4) If motion controls really revolutionized gaming, why did the big N drop them with the gamepad?
5 / 6) How is the Vita / smartglass a rip-off of Nintendo's second-screen gaming?
7) Untitled

Untitled
8) Personal taste, I personally enjoyed Nintendo's first-party games slightly more this gen, but just barely.
9) Sony could release classic games and get fans excited if they had a game as rare and expensive as Earthbound.
10 / 11) What rerelease game?
12) Sure

Long story short;

He's talking about the Virtual Console. Last I checked, Monster Hunter isn't a VC game...
