Hey guys,

With NG3: Razor's Edge now out for the Wii U in the UK, just wondering if any of you have picked it up and what your thoughts/opinions are on it so far
(pro's & con's)?

I'm interested but it's too big an investment for me after the mixed reviews. I'd really like to see a demo (I miss rental stores).

Actually even more interested right now. I'm a big brawler fan but all my non-VC titles use motion controls. I love motion control brawlers... but I cracked my ribs last night.

The postman dropped my copy through the letterbox a short while ago, as a fan of Ninja Gaiden especially Ninja Gaiden Black that was on the original Xbox and also Ninja Gaiden 2 (Xbox 360) which was also solid though not as good as "Black" IMO, I just felt I had to give this Wii U version of NG3 a chance, the extra characters/weapons & DLC etc. was enough to tempt me, also the fact that there's not much else like this on the Wii U was also another major plus.

Hope to try it out soon!

Can't argue with you that the price of this game (and pretty much all Wii U games) is far to expensive, saying that I managed to pick it up for just under £40, so better than £50 at least.

Pros:
Fast-paced, in your face action!
Great skills and weapons (easy to upgrade as well)
Awesome Characters (2 free downloadable characters too)
Difficult (in a good way, like a hard NES game)
Smooth combat, easy to learn
Dismemberment
BLOOD!!!!

Cons:
Screen can get a overwhelming at times
Difficulty might put you off
Enemies can be cheap when they are almost dead
The things the enemies say can get annoying

All in all if you are an action game fan then I would say pick this one up. It is by far the definitive version of the game. Have fun!

I'm on day 7. I really like the game and I think it plays and looks great. I'm using the GamePad and not the pro controller but the Gamepad features do not add much really. The game is tough and you will die, a lot... You better have quick ninja like reflexes and don't take the easy way and ever switch to "hero mode." The downloadable characters are a very nice addition especially if you played 1 & 2 though no sign of Rachel, yet. There is a decent mulitplayer online component to this game where you can build up your own Ninja but not that many people online though that may change (hopefully) with this being released in Europe. Better get used to using R1 to adjust the camera!
I'm glad Nintendo published this though I wonder about the sales of this game. I was hoping for a lot of support for this game (and Bayonetta 2) to show Nintendo and other 3rd parties that there is in fact a "hardcore market" for the Wii U.

Agree with this totally. I wish I could turn the enemies shouting off. Not a big fan of the swearing every 5-10 seconds

I'm really looking forward to Bayonetta and was looking forward to this before the reviews came out - 70 on Metacritic isn't good. £50 is a lot of money for me and hard to justify to my partner, that's why I'm craving a demo. I'm a little concerned about the difficulty too! I was a SEGA boy so, although I played a lot of Shinobi (which was also punishingly difficult) I've never experienced any of the previous Ninja Gaiden games.

3rd party support is also a concern of mine - hence my petition.

I'm planning on getting this when I get paid as I like a good third-person action game and KT seem to be really trying on the Wii U, which I appreciate.

Love to see a download-only release of Mahjong Taikai in the West, but maybe I'm dreaming too hard there!

I love Razor's Edge. It's a refreshing break from what Nintendo usually publishes, it's hardcore again (not that casual **** that was the original version), gore is back, & it feels like a true sequel to Ninja Gaiden II in every aspect.

That offer's for today only? Now I really can't make up my mind. It's also £34.95 at Zavvi with an extra 10% off at checkout BUT they're calling it a pre-order and have a release date listed of May 17th! I've emailed them to clarify when it would actually arrive if ordered.

Dammit...
So, day one, one save file. Last night, I got out of London and headed to the desert where, of course, I kept getting killed. Then it was time to head to bed. Today, I fire up the Wii U. Two save files and both of them are still in London. Has this happened to anyone else? I was enjoying this but I can't be bothered to replay stages I only managed to complete the night before.

I have not had any save problems. I totally get how you could not want to replay levels again. It feel likes a great commplishment to make it another day in this game haha... :P But trust me London, was a cake walk compared to the others.
