maybe a "transfert pack U" for make gamepad portable...is this possible?

What do you mean, exactly?

i mean an accessory that you can connected with gamepad for reading 3ds games. is it possible?

Like a Gameboy player? Can't see why that wouldn't be possible, at least.

The Gameboy Player and Super Gameboy were literally portable consoles in a package you could plug into the console. They worked by literally being a Gameboy and then sending the video signal through the console to the TV. In this day and age when you're able to create a simple HDMI based digital media player for $50? If they were going to revive that idea they'd take Sony's approach and make a "3DS TV".

Anyways, gone are the days when your portable gaming console was just a dumb device you throw a game into. My 3DS games are not only often not in cartridges anyway but the whole 3DS gaming experience is tied specifically to my console. With StreetPass, DLC, friend lists and so on. Moving from one 3DS to another is not as simple as swapping the cartridge.

Eh, I could still see them making a special cable or something that would hook up the 3DS to the TV. It wouldn't be Wii U related, though, unless they wanted to do 3DS games on Wii U as VC, too...or something. >.>

None of the I/O on the 3DS is fast enough to work in that way. The only way you might be able to get it to work would be if the 3DS streamed the videos in sort of a "reverse Wii U" way. In theory. The problem with that idea is that there's no way the 3DS is powerful enough to run a game AND compress a video stream to send to the Wii U. I also doubt the New 3DS is even capable of that. Plus even if it was, having played around with Steam's In-Home streaming, 2.4Ghz WiFi isn't exactly ideal for that sort of thing.

In theory, although it may open the Wii U up to exploits, they could create a new version of the 3DS that doesn't have a screen and connects to the Wii U via USB. Where it runs the game and the Wii U pushes the signal out to the TV via HDMI. Not sure how well it'd work but in theory it could work. But again, by the time they've done that and with the low cost of producing a simple box that outputs a video signal? They'd be better going the Playstation TV route. Easier to sell and secure a stand-alone portable console for your TV than there is in a portable console for your TV that depends on your other console device to work.

With the touch screen, I disagree. Utilizing the Wii U gamepad for the touch screen output to be streamed to and inputs sent back, makes a 3DS Player for the Wii U system the obvious route.

Plus, tv output while at home is further encouragement for their many handheld customers yet to acquire a Wii U to consider acquiring the system. Nintendo wouldn't only be gaining a few dollars from the sale of a new form of 3DS system, but also would gain in encouraging more people to acquire a Wii U.

Without tapping into the Wii U, tv/out would have to be like the PSP since you can't do without a touch screen for DS/3DS gaming. That would call for a new handheld revision with an internal scaler, HDMI out, perhaps an additional button to flip between various tv options (Such as stacking both screens onto your tv for games like Yoshi's Island DS), etc.

I'm not trying to argue that they should do a standalone system for playing 3DS games on the TV. I'm arguing that the whole idea is a bit average. Again, you'd literally need to build a working 3DS for it to be the same as what the Gameboy Player and Super Gameboy were. Forget the costs of adding a 320x240 screen to the controller because you're basically building a 3DS anyway. Not only that but opening the Wii U up to that potentially adds security problems because we're talking standard USB not a cartridge or a proprietary connector. And if it was simply a cheap USB device that read the cartridges? Then the Wii U would have to run a 3DS and DS emulator. At which point you'd be better off just putting the games up on the VC.

The Wii U needs a better system for cross-play, not another accessory

While I think this is moot now that we've gone this long with nothing except the promise of DS downloads, I still think it's an idea with promise.

So?

If it's price you're concerned about, there would be significant savings with the elimination of the screens, possibly tapping into the Wii U's own WiFi and SD slot, the elimination of the battery and charger, etc. And if it's existing 3DS sales that you're worried about (Even though most would surely be sold to existing handheld owners rather than in lieu of a more expensive handheld sale), they could easily price it to maintain their profit margins.

I'm sure Nintendo could adequately protect a USB connection (Likely, a dual USB connection to have adequate bandwidth) handling the video streams and control inputs.

Unfortunately agreed, if it's emulation, there's no sense in them allowing original cartridges to be utilized when they could easily sell a download in its place.

btw, let's return on topic boys
with every single major update nintendo add a new important function (for ex. the standby functions feature, automatic software downloads, quick start for the Wii U GamePad, etc...)
i think that this time nintendo will add the possibility of synchronize more controllers (including gamecube adapter) and amiibo compatibility as main functions
i hope for the energy-saving features for the gamepad and for the possibility of use the amazing gamecube controllers with other games. it would be great!
i also hope to sd card features: the possibility of bring out save data from games to another console. and the possibily of saving downloads data on it.
for ex. is tecnically possible to save data (ad DLC for ex) in an SD card?...i mean..is it only a software limitation?

I just don't think putting R&D into a physical hardware solution for playing portable games on your TV makes much sense. Especially when it's technically possible through software where there's no distribution or manufacturing costs. The only way I could see it happening is if they did want to go the Playstation TV route. Not because it's "cheaper" but more because it could be a better entry level and/or transitional device. Especially if they finally got around to making the eShop work across multiple devices.

why in the shopping centers the wii u are out of date?? they are too slow with those obsolete firmwares!

btw, other things:
-add more Mii customisation (ex. clothes, hats, etc)
-people speak about start up intro animation (for ex the "U" animation on gamepad): do u like this idea?

In an interview with Time (June 16, 2014), after 5.0.0 release, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the next big update is already in the works:
You mentioned at the pre-brief that you yourself had been working on the Wii U system update that dropped recently and added a quick start menu. Can you tell us anything about other future updates you’re planning for the system?
" We’re definitely working on additional system updates. But the challenge is that any time you do an update that big, it requires quite a bit of testing. We can’t do those very frequently, but I can say that we’re already working on the next system update."

I doubt the R&D expenditure would be too terribly great and they sold millions of Super Game Boys and Game Boy Players, so I think it's a sound idea.

But unfortunately, Nintendo apparently doesn't think so. At this point, I think the only hope for a tv solution is if Nintendo indeed releases a hybrid handheld/console system in a few years and they happen to choose to go with ARM processors for it. Then, just maybe, we'll see some sort of solution via backwards compatibility.

At least DS downloads on the Wii U, if they ever get rolling, should help a bit.

-add the possibility to use the gamecube adaptor in wii mode for the Wii games and peripherals that use the gamecube controller and connector (for ex "cyberbike magnetic edition")
-people speak about "voice chat"
-extend the Wii U Microphone compability (for ex on youtube app)
-cd audio/mp3 compability: is this possible?

@theWAITisOVER Unlikely. That would require modifications to Wii Mode, and Nintendo won't do that.

yes, i understand that nintendo won't modificate wii mode...but the wii operating system support the gamecube things. so they could release an application from Wii Shop that unlocks the gamecube controller compability

NEWS
Coming from Satoru Iwata...

"Also, we will be implementing what we call a “pre-download” system with “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U” that will be released at the end of this year.
The “pre-download” system is a system in which consumers who have purchased the game before its release can download most of the game content in advance. Using this system, consumers will not have to wait for a long time to download the game after its release. They will then be able to start playing the game by only downloading a requisite minimum amount of update data.

In addition to the automatic distribution system at the time of purchase, which I have just explained, the “pre-download” system will be available with download cards sold at stores as well, by entering the download code at Nintendo e-Shop in advance. Consumers will not be required to save the download card until the release of the game if they enter the download code on the day of purchase.

This system will be implemented on Wii U first, and is planned for Nintendo 3DS next year."
