Do you think this means that we could possibly see an announcement of a new game from Next Level? I recall them saying in the past that Nintendo keeps giving them "better and better IPs."
What are you hoping for? Mario Strikers 3? A new Punch Out? Personally, I hope that "better and better IPs" comment translates to F-Zero or Star Fox...
When I sit close to the stage, sometimes I get sweat or spit on me from the Runaway Five.
Based on their comments last year on how they have become "the masters of reviving forgotten franchises" after their huge successes that were Punch-Out and Luigi's Mansion, I'd definitely bet my money on something like Star Fox.
I just don't see F-Zero happening anytime soon. We already have this years big zero-gravity racer, Mario Kart 8.

This. It would be illogical for Nintendo to release two racers so close together. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I truly believe it could be something related to our favorite space travelling fox...or just a Strikers 3. Meh.

The fact that they announce the game does not mean it will be releasing soon. When was X revealed again? And no idea if it even releases this year.
Yet I would prefer that Kamiya worked on StarFox. He wants to, and I don't buy his "I won't do it now because everyone asks me about it"
If they announce anything tomorrow, I will be happy as I love NLG's previous games, so I am confident they will give it their best.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
I hope it's neither of those two, but I'm just being selfish because I don't really enjoy football or boxing games, even if they are tinted with Nintendo magic.

If it does not release this year, then there is no problem with F Zero being announced.
I will actually be really surprised if there is an F Zero announcement, as much as I would like there to be. I have a feeling that the next few games Nintendo announces will be either action/shooters (i.e. Star Fox or Metroid) or a sports game. This is purely speculation of course, based on what genres are lacking on the Wii U.

I just hope it's not another Luigi's Mansion. Don't get me wrong, I loved Dark Moon, but that's not what the Wii U needs. I have no guesses as to what the actual announcement will be though.

I'm actually kind of hoping it is Luigi's Mansion U. I don't want it to be a port version though, but even if they did a port, it would still sell very well on the console. Dark Moon sold great, and there will definitely be a lot of people wanting one for the Wii U. I agree it will probably be better served in a couple years, but I won't complain one bit if that's the announcement. I'll take a Strikers game too though.
How Nintendo has failed to make extremely appropriate and so borderline cheesy that it's charming titles using "U" has been one of my big disappointments with the Wii U. I mean come on, Smash U! Smash U! How did they miss that when naming the new Smash Bros?
