Hey guys,

Just got a Wii U yesterday, it's my first modern Nintendo Console, and i have a few questions for you.

1. Is there a online store i can run on my PC and buy games from there? I'm used to buy stuff for my PS4/PS3/PSVita this way on the sony store,
as it is much easier. The Wii U interface is so horrible i just wanna run games from there, nothing else.

2. What are some good games that you can recommend?
For now i have...
Super Mario Bros. U
Tekken Tournament 2
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
LEGO City Undercover
Assassin's Creed III
ZombiU

Preferably exclusives.
3. /

4. Can i connect any external HDD with AC power? (I have some old 500GB external drive lying around)

Thanks in advance!

1. No, but I think Nintendo hinted there may be one in the future.
2. What are your preferences? Favorite genres?
3. We'd rather not discuss that here.
4. Possibly. Nintendo recommends a hard drive with an AC adapter. They recommend these models: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_... But more can work with the Wii U

Current games: Everything on Switch

Mazal Tov.

2. Also pick up SM3DWorld and Mario Kart 8 obviously. I also recommend Arkham City:AE, ME3:SE. Others: Rayman Legends, Sonic, Deux Ex, Wonderful 101, Injustice, Scribblenauts, and eShop games.

4. Yes.

"Dubs Goes to Washington: The Video Game".

2. What are your preferences? Favorite genres?

I like Adventure games with a good story, Action games could work too but no shooting please, i have enough of that on the Playstation
and some offline multiplayer fighting / racing games would be cool to play with friends.

Thanks Definitely gonna get Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 soon, but i'm waiting for the price to drop a little, otherwise i'd have to buy them both for 100+ euro total

I have Arkham City on steam, is there a difference in the AE Version?

This is a personal taste, but in my opinion - absolutely. The GamePad adds so much interactivity and awesomeness. It's all there - the recordings, the weapons, the bios, the map. It's like you're Batman and you're looking at this computer all the time on the forearm. And you can also Off Tv when you want to. It's really an incredible experience. It was my first playthrough though, but simply unforgettable. Rivaled by only a few games that have similar extensive use of the GamePad like Zombi U, Deux Ex or the Special Edition of Mass Effect: 3, to a degree.

1. Agreed, the UI is horrible. Finding games is a mess on the eShop. Also, folders or something to organize downloaded games would be nice. Unfortunately, as of right now we are stuck with it as is.
2. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Sonic Lost World (Don't listen to the haters), Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D World
3./
4. Yes, I use a portable 1 TB WD harddrive connected with a usb y-cable and works perfectly.

To blessed to be stressed.

How big are the wii u / wii games? Maybe i should invest in a 2TB drive, I own a 4TB WD drive but i think it's too big for the wii u right?
Also, can i save my physical games on the hard drive?

Yeah a 4 TB won't work, 2 is max. Games are not that large, most are somwhere between 5-15 GB, I'm guessing??? No, you cannot play a digital version by installing it from a physical disk if that is what you are asking.

I thought so, just wanted to make sure haha.
One more thing.. Can i transfer data from one drive to another? if for example my 500GB drive is full and i buy a 2TB drive, can i move all my digital games to the new drive? Or do i have to re-download them from the store?

Not sure, I think the Wii U shows that it can read 2 USB storage devices at a time.

I see, would be pain in the ass to re-download a collection

@abzorbal Don't listen to any of them. Just get Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and get ready for a 400 hours worth of fun. Oh, and welcome to the club !

As for your HDD question, yes. The Wii U is capable of reading 2 storage devices and you can transfer files from one to another, I make back ups for my saves in a portable 16GB thumb drives just in case something goes wrong. However do note that the Wii U will only be able to function with ONE storage device only.

2. You should try to get:
Mario Kart 8 - if you have ever enjoyed a Mario Kart game.
Nintendoland - more than half of this game is amazing but you need friends for the some of the better games and some of the games are poor
Deus Ex - for a good effort on gamepad integration and a great game
Ninja Gaiden 3 - if you like mindless blood filled action games (reviews of this were weird, it's a good game)
Wii U Tennis - best online sports game ever invented
Wind Waker HD - I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it. I didn't like the GC version anywhere near as much
Rayman Legends - it deserves its praise and the Wii U version is the actual game. I don't understand the equal levels of praise for the other versions when they take so much away from the gameplay. If a Wii U version had cut so much from the source material it would get 5/10 or less.

If you never had a Wii:
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - much better than any of the actual Wii U Mario games.
Wii ganes - Mad World, both Zeldas, almost anything Mario, Pikmin with new controls, RE4, HotD:Overkill, Ghost Squad, Wii Sports Resort
Wii VC - has pretty much the ultimate retro selection. I'd be sure to invest some money on some N64 games before Nintendo take the Wii VC offline and replace it with their relatively barren Wii U version

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

Does the Wii U have a achievement system? It's always fun to extend the gameplay on Playstation with their trophies, it adds a lot more playtime.

Sorta. It's limited to a few games at the moment and you only get to show 'em off via miiverse.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.
