I already played it on 3DS. Luigi Mansion Dark Moon was fun but a Wii U port would not get me to buy it again. Kid Icarus: Uprising is the 3DS game that really should have the HD treatment.

Well no &@€$@* @£&1! I honestly think they're trolling now. I'm sure even Gearbox's Duke Nukem and Aliens games have 'fans', there's not a franchise that doesn't. Or is this something like 20 questions? Next question does its name have letters in it? Does it feature graphics? How about sound?
Maybe I'm just in a bad mood or something but this last year has had too much misinformation and false hype generation generated by these so called 'leaks' you could write a book about it. I'll see what their cards are when they play them on Monday but this nonsense isn't worth my time if that's how they're going to play it over the next two days. See you all on Monday.

@TheLastLugia: Tamaki/Liam from Unseen64 is in on it as well. All I know is that it's some proper evidence that they've got; they're not just random people claiming to have leaks; you know, like what happened with Splatoon. If any rumour can be trusted, it's this one.
About the "It's a franchise that has fans" part, sure that's very ambiguous, but it tells us that it's at least a new entry in an existing franchise, not a new IP. The way it was worded makes it sound as if it's not the biggest franchise, so probably not a Mario Galaxy 3 or something big along those lines. Whatever it is, we'll see Monday, if they don't leak more stuff in the coming days.
Is the game anything exciting? Or a really niche kinda of product?
The fact that the first answer the leaker gives to that question is that the franchise, "Has Fans," suggests that the fans are as much a part of the identity of the series as the defining aspects of the series itself.
Obviously the go-to assumption is that this has something to do with the Mother franchise. The people who like Earthbound really, really, really like it. They've been asking Nintendo for an official translation of Mother 3 for years and still maintain a fan website despite the series being done with for over a decade.
Of course, there's that saying about assumptions, so I'm not going to bet all of my chips on the leaked game being anything having to do with any Mother game. There's also the fact that there's no definitive proof that these leakers in question even have info about an unannounced game.

A soon-to-arrive Nintendo Direct has been hinted before by journalists, so that wouldn't be anything new. But the actual content of a Direct has never been leaked. If 4-5 sources confirms the existence of a game, it would probably mean any of these things:
It's a game developed in Japan where the title is known already (=Pikmin 4).
It's a game developed outside of Japan, most likely North America (=a game from Retro or Next Level)
Funny because if true this could be related to the other recent thread if Nintendo will have a big game for this May, as they did MK8 and Splatoon these last 2 years.
Indeed, and the time period for a reveal now until late May would be almost identical to the reveal of TP:HD and its release date.
@jariw: I'm pretty sure the rumor of Next Level working on a Wii U game was proven false when Federation Force was announced. As far as I know they are not large enough for multiple projects.

That rumor popped up after Federation Force was announced though. I believe it started with Liam expressing disappointment that the Wii U game they supposedly also had in development wasn't announced that year.
And NLG actually is capable of doing multiple projects at a time. They did it when they were still developing for other publishers besides Nintendo.
I don't think it's an EAD game, probably from a different development group: Retro Studios and Next Level Games come to mind. But I don't think it's Retro's new project.
