I personally loved the business move Nintendo made, I purchased all three titles( Metriod Prime Trilogy, Mario Galaxy 2, PunchOut) $10 a pop. I had previously wanted to purchase MT Trilogy and Mario Galaxy 2 but not for the heavily inflated used prices that gamestop was charging.
So my question is this, I really really want Zelda: Skyward Sword which runs anywhere from $40-$60 used via gamestop or online. I am holding out hope that Nintendo may port this game via Wii U eshop just like they did for the previously mentioned titles and offer it at the same prices. Do you think its a realistic hope or should I suck it up and cough up the required capital to buy skyward sword? Is there any news about possible new releases for ported wii games, and I am curious if there is any other wii titles you would like to see get ported onto the Wii U eshop?
@Reznor52 Given that you live in the US, the only announced games were the 3 that you bought. In Europe 7 games were announced, the 3 you own, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby Return to Dreamland, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, Pandora's Tower. The other 4 games may come to the US though given NoA's approach to VC, I wouldn't expect any of them or any other Wii games arrive for at least 3-4 months.

Didn't someone uncover the fact that they deliberately delay virtual console stuff (I know wii games aren't technically ran virtually, be calm pedants) in order to space it out for some bizarre business reason?
I can't remember where I read that...
I still haven't played Skyward Sword so I hope they get their ass in gear.

What's bizarre about trying to have an even release schedule? Would it be better to put 100 virtual console games at one occasion and nothing for a whole year, compare to market and release 2 games a week? Nintendo schedule their retail releases now based on marketing reasons, they work with the indie developers so as many indies as possible get proper eShop exposure through an even release schedule, they do the same with virtual console releases. I don't see the bizarre reason here.

I was thinking the same thing. Don't really need to discover that they do this, it just wouldn't make sense to release them all at once or some titles wouldn't get many sales due to other titles being more popular. Spacing them out allows for the focus on making some money on each game.

They aren't releasing the Virtual Consoles games on an even schedule though.

This is the VC schedule so far this year. In what way isn't that even?
January 01: 2 games
January 08: 2 games
January 15: 2 games (+Mario Galaxy 2 Wii)
January 22: 2 games (+DKCR Wii)
January 29: 1 game (+ Metroid Prime Wii)
February 05: 1 game
February 12: 2 games
February 19: 2 games (+Kirby's Adventure Wii)
February 26: 2 games
March 05: 2 games

We're talking about NoA though, I know NoE has a very even schedule with their only problem being delays of new games (e.g. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse by 5+ months). NoA has a huge problem regarding VC and the fact the DKC trilogy only just came last week is one of the many pieces of evidence.
