Gaming's most famous face has graced our cover on a few occasions, but it's been 16 years since our cover story has focused on one of his adventures. We recently had the chance to visit Nintendo of America to play New Super Mario Bros. U, but that's not all we did at the studio. In addition to our ten-page Mario cover story (featuring an interview with legendary designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka), we also have an extensive feature that will prepare you for the impending launch of the Wii U.

I approve of it, if only because between that and baby yoshis I can now tell this game apart from the other games. That's a good first step.

It may just be the 2D perspective but mario galaxy looks like it was rendered differently and has a less pastal coloring style.

How much did Game Informer pay you to post this?
On a serious note, that cover is a mess. Everything just looks haphazardly placed but then again I have not seen many video game magazine covers. Maybe this is the usual way.

I realize that it looks like a 7 year old made the cover with a 1980's sticker album.

I'm actually looking forward to this issue.

I don't understand why Ryno is complaining about the cover. I'm more concerned about what's INSIDE the issue.

I may actually read a GameInformer article for once!

I have agree to with Knux here; it's what's inside the magazine that counts, mainly what the game is about and how it plays and not just how it looks. It would be great if this game was based on another new land other than the Mushroom Kingdom, like Dinosaur Land.

Hey Knux, I am giving my opinion on the cover because the topic is New Super Mario Bros U gameinfromer october cover along with a copy of the cover in the first post. If this topic was "how excited are you for the content inside of the magainze" than I apologize for missing that!

Yes, but it doesn't say that you were supposed to rate the cover. This topic just shows the cover and what will be in the issue. Your point?

Exactly, what is the point of this thread? A plug for gameinformer? Nintendolife should at least get some advertising bucks out of this.

I could not disagree more. This is one of the best looking video game magazine covers I've seen in quite a while. Mario is a colorful game, you can't expect a gray-tone palette and intense "realism." The way Mario is blown up to fill the entire front cover is really classy; it doesn't look cut and pasted.

Full-disclosure: I do not like GameInformer, I stopped subscribing years ago. But this looks better than any of Nintendo Power's covers (subscriber edition) in the past 2 or so years. And I am a huge NP fan.

Mario and Luigi really need to stop staring at me like that. It's creeping me the hell out.
