There's yet another new rumor for a Paper Mario for Wii U, this time coming from a Japanese forum named 2ch. Intelligent Systems attended a job expo in Japan. Some folks who went to the event claim that IS is making a new Paper Mario. Representatives of the company allegedly stated that this is happening.
They were handing out pamplets and paperwork that suggest that part of the rumor is true.
As long as it's not like Sticker Star, I'm all for it!...Before anyone says I think it sucks because it's not like the first two, you're wrong. I loved Super Paper Mario, and it was different. Sticker Star I hate for other reasons (it's too easy, the characters aren't memorable, they made Bowser mute, some of the puzzles are bull-crap, etc.).
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

I hope it's more similar to the first two games if it's true. Don't get me wrong, I love Super Paper Mario (Sticker Star...eh...not so much; I do really love the music though) but I want the series to return to its roots.
I really hope it's true!

As per usual, I'll consider this fake until officially confirmed.
That said, I was hoping for the longest time that a new Paper Mario game would be made - preferably with the combat system from TTYD (or at least based on it), and the great storytelling and characters from Super Paper Mario.
It's probably fake, the last 2 Paper Mario rumors have been. That said I'd be surprised if a new game wasn't already in development. Super Paper Mario sold 3 million and Sticker Star 2-something. It would be foolish not to pursue that money; the same goes for the absent Mario sports series'.

Yes! Also, exploration like the Twilight Town, Cragnon land, and Bitland chapters.
Until something like that is confirmed, I'll just pass this off, but another Paper Mario game sounds great right about now. Perhaps I'll keep up a little hope for a new game when E3 starts.
Oh, and if another is currently being made, please make it closer to TTYD! Trying out super-new things is nice and all, but doing something closer to TTYD's style probably won't be a bad thing.
I was hoping the unannounced Wii U title from 2013 was a proper Fire Emblem tactical RPG like the others in the series. SMTxFE still looks like it could be fun but it seems more like Persona with FE characters thrown in for no apparent reason.
Just to point out, that list in the second photo is just a list of games they have already made, by system (the game under the Wii U label is Game & Wario).

I know about the loathing for sticker stars lack of characters and watered down RPG elements. But that was the first paper Mario I've brought myself to finish and I've bought them all and also I still have my Super Mario RPG cartridge. So I guess I'm a sticker star fan with few complaints. I just liked going through the map and really didn't need to be engrossed by the role playing or even need good RPG gameplay. What can ya do

I've finished them all but I agree with you I don't need a lot of RPG elements to enjoy the series. Super Paper Mario is my favourite in the series.

I really agree. Well, I can't really decide between Super Paper Mario and Thousand Year Door, but Paper Mario is a series of true RPGs. That means, despite the specifics of the mechanics, whatever stats may come, the narrative is the soul of those games and they both have that in spades.
