Whenever my next door neighbor, "not @Epona14" uses their CB "Hamm" radio my Wii U flat-out hard-freezes. Why do older communication devices like CB radio's cause the Wii U to lockup? And is there any way to remedy the issue?
Like the entire system? Doe's it just freeze when you try to do anything wireless/internet related? You could ask them to change their frequency signal or move your Wii U into a different room. And I think you can also change the wireless frequency for the Wii U through the internet setting.
File a complaint with the radio control authority in your country. Ham radio is not supposed to disturb anything and if it freezes your Wii U it could also freeze a passing airplane.

I'd say it's just a co-incidence. Unless their radio is draining so much power that your voltage is dropping there's no way I can see it interfering at all. Even if it was using the same frequencies the Wii U does radio waves aren't going to cause it to freeze. At most it'd reduce the usable range of your GamePad or cause WiFi do break. But it doesn't use the same frequencies (it's a long range radio) so it won't.
I susspect there's some other issue. Some piece of software you're using ATM or some other fault. That you just happened to have stumbled across it at the same time you thought your neighbour was using his radio.
