OK recently I've been having an interest in the WiiU console as well as zombie U.
Seeing all these positive reviews from gamers who own the console now makes me want it more!!
BUT... the only way I can afford to get a WiiU atm is to sell my PS3!
I really enjoy my PS3 but also want something fresh like the WiiU and the 2nd screen advantages.
The web browser is very good as well I'm hearing.
So basically what would others do and especially the guys here who own the WiiU would do?
Keep my PS3 or sell it for a WiiU with zombie u and Mario?
Oh I'm in the UK so can get on Friday if I decide to go for it.
that's a tough call OneZeoN... I'm not a sony fan but I can only see you doing that if you are truely done playing with your PS3 and are ready to part with it.. if not maybe should wait...
The only positive is the PS3 will be cheaper down the line....
Man just save some cash. ps3 has the last of us coming out in a few months I believe . work some overtime or something cut some lawns, babysit some bad a** kids and go buy a Wii u

Lol I have 2 kids so cutting lawns and baby sitting is long gone
I've just moved into a 3 bedroom house so money is tight and will be for months so its either a WiiU or ps3 sadly.
Nobody can help you here. None of us know the probability that you'll be happy with one console over the other.
I would never sell a console with a large library of games though, for a brand new console which will take a while to get off the ground. Unless you've played absolutely every ps3 game and you REALLY want to play those two or three Wii U games for the next six months, I'm not sure I'd switch if I were you.
Understand your pain OneZeonN.... life of an adult is all about Compromises....AlexSays makes a good point.. Unless you vision playing with your family the Wii U verses the PS3 (assuming you do not play with your family already) maybe you should just stay put a bit...
Well sucks to be you man.....j/k but seriously look and see if there's any games you want coming out for the ps3 in the future if not then make the choice you can always get a Wii u later so there is no rush also the fact you have kids might be better for you to have the Wii u anyway hell man I don't know and I think I'm just complicating the situation even more now lol
1) Do you have another Blu-Ray player? PS3 has some great game titles, but that's the main reason I have one ... it's a great Blu-Ray player and satisfies my thirst for games. If it weren't for Blu-Ray, I'd probably be happy with the Wii U and a fantastic PC. Does your family watch Blu-Rays?
2) How big is your PS3 library? I agree with @AkexSays: it's hard to sell off a whole library. I have never done that and get very attached. Are you in that position?
3) What most interests you in Wii U? ZombiU will come down in price, the Wii U is going to be around for a while, and the launch window isn't even complete yet (which hopefully just scratches the surface on what's to come for the system anyway). If you didn't HAVE to have one at launch, perhaps you can stand to wait a bit and save up to spend less (launch title price drops, prioritizing what games you REALLY want, etc.). Besides, if you come in later, many of these software issues people are having (like a resolution/overscan problem I have) will be ironed out.
4) If you wait, are you in more of a position to get one later?
I will add though that I truly love my Wii U. Despite some troubles (resolution issues that will get patched, a GamePad screen with a manufacturing defect that I have to get replaced, launch day downloading struggles, etc.), I have truly enjoyed this machine. Nintendo Land is brilliant. If you have family that is interested in playing games, this would be perfect! Also, the Miiverse has been an extremely pleasant surprise.
TLDR: Wii U is definitely brilliant (at least in the eyes of a biased Nintendo fan that has been with them since the beginning), but it's tough to say you absolutely MUST jump in now at the expense of a console you enjoy that has other uses for the family.
I think its best I wait and try get a WiiU after Xmas.
I did want to play far cry 3 which isn't out on the WiiU at all so maybe best to stick to what I have and save some money and get a good January !

Hope that helps some...
Thanks for the reply.
Some good points made and my missus just said if I sold my ps3 if want another one anyway... Which is true lol
I'll save up money and wait for my WiiU I think
I would wait until the games library has developed. It would be a shame to sell the PS3 when it still has some great titles to be released. That said, if you're truly done with it and see yourself getting no further entertainment value then it might be worth selling. I guess it also depends on how much of an investment you view the wii u as being. Are there currently titles you really want or are they a long way off?
I have a choice between buying a PS3 or a Wii U early next year. I've settled on the PS3 because of its large games library (and the upcoming Ni No Kuni looks irresistible!) and much cheaper price. I am a big Nintendo fan and do want the Wii U, but looking at it logically it is expensive at the moment and the games I would purchase it for (Zelda, Metroid etc) are a long way off. I figure that by the time they are released the console itself will be cheaper and, if not, at least the titles will justify the purchase.
If money is an issue, then I'd wait to purchase a new system. Wait for cheaper prices next year (either price drop or holiday sales) and just save your money in general. Don't spend what you don't have.

Keep your PS3. While the Wii U may be great it's not worth sacrificing the PS3 for. If money is the problem then do not think about buying more products, in fact try to save up for your family.
Say what now?

I'm not really active here anymore. So it goes.
Yeah still use my ps3 but really want the WiiU as well.
Ideally I'd have both but not possible atm
why cant you have both, besides its the best bluray movie player out there
money is the problem atm
if i got the WiiU id have to sell my ps3 to fund a lot of it
oh well ill have to wait
I feel you there. It's always tough to miss out on a launch. Besides all the excitement you always get the most mileage out of a console if you buy right at the start. On top of that there are not many people who'd rather own a PS3 than a Wii U right now, but I'd agree with most everyone here. Don't sell an old console for a new one unless you never play it anymore.
