Nintendo will in the next few months reveal a new sports game range bringing back classics like Excitebike, 1080° snowboarding, Wave Race and a new Mario sports game. Nintendo will use these games as a way of marketing the console to a more mature market and fans of sports games. Just a prediction what do you think??
Nintendo needs sports games. Why did NBA Courtside and Ken Griffey Baseball disappear? And what about Sega's Home Run King. Nintendo consoles used to have first party or generally exclusive player licensed sports games, why don't they anymore.
I know Left Field Productions is gone, but that doesn't make sports games impossible.

My prediction:
New Wave Race will be set around Wuhu Island and star Miis. Fans of the old Wave Race shall weep.
We're not getting another 1080 Snowboarding.
A Wii U download sequel to Excitebike World Tour...probably won't happen.
A Mario sports game will happen at some point in the future.
With EA and 2K off of Nintendo's side, when it comes to the Wii U, I think it's important that Nintendo tries to add some arcade-sports titles that aren't Wii Sports or Olympics.
Square Enix's Mario Basketball games were pretty good in my opinion. It would be pretty great to have a full-HD Mario Hoops 3-on-3. Maybe Mario Hoops 5-on-5?
I can also imagine a new Wave Race, exclusive to 3DS.
I'd also be really cool with Mario Tennis for Wii U. I know we got one just 2 years ago, but that game has too many flaws in it (touch actions, motion controls, no Worldwide Tennis matches). I think it would be worthwhile to try again on Wii U.
I don't think 1080 is going to come back any time soon.

Excitebike could happen, but I feel like it would be something on the eshop.
Mario sports... we'll that's about as likely as the sun setting in the west tonight (therefore, it'll happen for sure).
Nintendo NEEDS sports games though. With EA and 2K currently out of the picture, they have to figure something out. I know people who buy the new Madden/NHL/Fifa/MLB/whatever every single year. I enjoy sports games every now and then as well.

Range is maybe the wrong word what I meant is a focus on sports games in late 2015. Football fans will always go for FIFA/Pro Evo american football Madden etc but if Nintendo could offer sport experiences that were not so common on other concoles then it could be successful. As for the Mario sports game yes it really is very likely but I would like to see them definitely do an HD basketball or baseball game or even an American football game (unlikely but can you imagine how fun it would be!!) I know there will most likely be another Olympics game for the Rio games and it would be great if they took some chances with it this time
If I was going to predict a last minute surprise Nintendo game before the end of the year I'd look at what they have done in the past. Remember last year with little to no warning we got NES Remix and Dr Luigi on the eShop. They did a similar thing with the Mario Kart DLC, New Super Luigi U and all of the other DLC type stuffs. So I wouldn't be predicting something that big.
....... but if they were to get the N64 VC up and running? Yeah, that could happen. Maybe launching alongside Smash and with a bunch of games that are associated with Smash like StarFox, Zelda and Mario. That could make sense. More likely if we see soemthing it'll be more along the lines of a HD version of Advance Wars, some Nintendo themed puzzle game or a new IP along the lines of Pushmo.
