Having the tv screen and the pad showing two different things is really annoying so I hope developers don't do that often.

Except for local multiplayer. That's the best use of that capability.

Personally I want to see NFC applications. That's the main technology that actually excites me about the Wii U, but it's used in nothing so far.

I wasn't even aware of the technology until I heard about the Wii U, so I'm glad its getting some exposure.
Something cooler than Skylanders, please. :>

Magic the Gathering U.

It HAS to happen. Or at the very least Pokemon Card Game U.

If anyone here has heard of an Australian city called Adelaide, please say!

Oh, and that was a great, descriptive review of the Wii U! Makes me even more hyped! I'd preorder it if I had any money!

Say, isn't Parkway Drive from there?
Edit: NVM, I'm thinking of Byron Bay. But yeah, "say".

Do I even play?

These are not rumours, It is already known that MS was working on kinect 2.0 to increase the accuracy and response time of the device, as well as Sony:

"Studio Liverpool was working on two PlayStation 4 launch titles. One was a Wipeout title described as "dramatically different", the other was a motion capture based game along the lines of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell."

I dont care about the term innovation, but this small detail (motion capture) puts PS4/720 in a different team than WiiU with its tablet. Following your logic, pick up a PC, install Windows8 and a card with two video connectors, plug one to the TV and another to a touch screen, and enjoy your "WiiU" experience.

Unnamed sources are always 100% accurate and you know as well as I do that your scenarios aren't going to pan out that way. Windows 8 having strong touch screen support does not mean it will deliver a Wii U like experience. There are certainly no off the shelf wireless controllers combined with touch screens currently that have anything remotely close to PC support. The Kinect itself is more likely to get support in PC games in the medium term.

The Wii U hardware offers something different for gaming that can't be done on the PC yet. The rumoured PS4/720 may offer something different but that rumoured difference will likely be ignored for everything but party games. The compelling reason to buy them over a last gen console from a gamer perspective is purely in the extra horsepower which a mid-range PC already beats. If I get one eventually it'll be purely for the exclusives not a different experience that the hardware might offer with cross platform titles.

This review was nice. But it sounded like it came from somebody that expects way too much out of things.

I have already had the cops at my door twice for the old maximum velocity but I think I can allow it again just for @Avi

I currently live in a small suburb next to Norwood.
It's great to see people actually know what Adelaide is, because I just went on holiday to America, and a lot of people asked us if we were from Australia. We'd say yes. They'd say "Are you from Sydney?" . we'd sigh. Then we'd say "no, we're from a city called Adelaide" .The American would then says that he has never heard of Adelaide.

Why does everyone think we only live in Sydney in Australia?

Because Sydney is the most visible city in Australia from overseas. You either see Sydney or the outback in advertising, so I don't think it's a case of people thinking everybody lives in Sydney, it's just that that's the only city they can name in Australia. Don't worry, I've given up of telling people I'm from Adelaide - I've been met with too many blank stares to bother telling more people!

Nice spot where you're living! I was in Norwood for a while - a block back from the Parade, which was nice - and moved up to Kensington Gardens after that (just off Magill Road) for a couple of years. My wife and I then moved back to Maylands - again just off Magill Rd. - for a little while so I know the area pretty well. I'm hoping we might be able to buy a house in that general area once we get back to Adelaide.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
