I would imagine they wouldn't, but has anyone heard any confirmation that they still won't charge for the online multiplayer?

It's free in japan so I would assume it's free here too.It's apparently it's running on Nintendo severs this time instead of Capcom so looks like no fee anywhere.

Monster Hunter is awesome. I only put 400 hours into Tri (I say 'only' because my buddy clocked over 1000) and I cannot wait to play more on the Wii U.

I'm thinking that with the amount of play the game will get that I might buy the digital version, although I would like the box on my shelf too.

If u plan on ordering from amazon.com and want to buy both versions, Order BOTH at the same time, and u get $20 OFF!

Even if you don't want both, it's worth considering this anyways; essentially this makes the 3DS one $20, give it to a friend or sell it for like $30 and make a profit.

The amount in Ultimate makes Tri's look pathetic. Think of it as a big, stand alone expansion.

I didn't get Tri till last year so I haven't played too much of it. Having MH3U will be just the thing to get me into the series especially since there aren't really any other Wii U titles coming out soon. That Amazon deal makes it tempting to get the 3DS version as well but i'll probably just ask for the Wii U version for my birthday.

Holy snickerdoodles. I know I put AT LEAST ~300 hours in Tri, so I can only imagine the kind of time sink 3 Ultimate will be. March 19th can't get here quick enough.

The only problem is you need to play through a lot of the old to get to that new content. Maybe 40-50 hours or so!

Yeah I'm trying to figure out how long this game will last me, since with Tri, I just started losing interest last year...and, when did Tri come out here? xD
Anyways yeah Ultimate's village quests start out similarly to Tri's, with a few of the new monsters here and there. (not to mention at the same time introducing a new companion), but after defeating Ceadeus is where things really start to change. Once you hit high rank, new hunting grounds, and if Tri's the only game you've played like with me, it introduces Subspecies into the mix. Also you'll encounter a couple of returning monsters from past generations.
...Then there's G-Rank, where things get kinda chaotic. xD

Cool. I'm glad I didn't have money when the Wii one came out, and I'm buying it this time around.

I'm heavily debating going for the Amazon deal...

I have always meant to get into this series. Assuming I like the demo, this will be my first foray in it and I think it looks like a great title to enter on.

Same here, and I was only planning on getting for Wii U for the time being. I'll definitely be playing both demos next Thursday (plus F-Zero and Crashmo, next week is going to be busy)!

This game is gonna be great. I demand you all buy it ASAP. Haha. I know 100% it's going to be available on the eShop. I saw it on some ads online when it says 'skip ad'. I'm not gonna get the physical copies, and download them.
I wouldn't count a bundle price out. We'll just have to wait and see... Everone I talked to days before Wii U launch was preordering NSMB.U, just in case it wasn't DLC on day 1. I went with my gut and figured it would, and we all know it showed up.

I had Tri for about five minutes on the Wii. Not that it was bad, but I could see it taking over my life. I plan on getting this because I have more time to play games and vary what I'm playing more. Download only for me, so no trade-in temptation!
