@Waltz: agreed on the character models — i'd assume the Wii U will give them more freedom with that kind of thing. idk how they'll work it for the 3DS, but so long as they're giving us the same amazing landscapes and settings as well as solid gameplay, i can go ahead and ignore scary-looking characters through another amazing game of theirs, lol.

Gotta be honest, Xenoblade looking as good as it is AND being as large of a game as it was on the Wii was pratically a miracle and while the game has done far better than it had any right to in America, there is no way the game has made a profit overall. Trying to do the same thing with Wii U's graphics would likely just be the equivalent of setting a room full of money on fire.

Jim Sterling had a really interesting article on this and while I don't think it's as a definitively true point as he thinks it is, it does bring up way too many things that make sense. I'd link it but the link has a curse in it so...er...yeah

Jim Sterling also managed to conveniently forget that there are JRPGs (let alone WRPGs) of a similar epic scope as Xenoblade on both the PS3 and Xbox 360

Pretty big oversight when he's complaining that the PS3 and Xbox 360 don't have epic scope RPGs.
