I’ve updated the page of the “Welcome to Monolith Soft” [HP] soft monolith. September 20 (Thursday) held “Tokyo Game Show 2012.” We will report Riki is enthusiastic this year. Do not miss it!

so far we know Monolith Soft has three teams.

The Xenoblade team is working on a new IP for Wii U helmed by Tetsuya Takahashi.

A second team helping with the development of Project X Zone

And a third team developing a game for 3DS with this concept art.

Probably not. I know the Wii U game is a new IP. Not sure about the 3DS game and I don't remember enought from batien kaitos to compare it to the artwork posted above.

Exciting! Had no idea about that 3DS concept art. (And that Monolith had three development teams.)

Wati, does Nintendo atend TGS this year? They didn't do that last year. They are the ones who own Monolith, so you would think Nintendo would announce anyything made by them...

Edit: Was it ever confirmed that the new Wii U game was a new IP? Didn't they just say they were working on something...

Something Xenoblade-like for 3DS would get me excited. That's definitely what the artwork reminds me of.

I would buy a Xenoblade two, even though I'll never complete the first because of my wii.

Hopefully it's a completely new game and not any kinda sequel.

I'm with you. As much as I loved Xenoblade, I don't want a sequel. Leave it be - it's PERFECT as is

I honestly think that it's going to be Xenoblade Chronicles hd, possibly with some extra content or with a view to being able to download new dlc. Even though I've sank over 150hrs into the game, an announcement like this would still equal a day one purchase for me and many others. There are very few games today that are dripping with charisma and almost "wear their hearts on their sleeves" as xenoblade. Even most Sony/xbox players couldn't find much negative with it apart from the predictable yell of, "the game deserved somuch better than the wii graphics.". So, if the game has been remade in hd, the beautiful vistas and wildlife will finally get the eye-popping visuals they so richly deserve. I for one, cannot wait for Thursday.

@RAFFwaff welcome!
But I never saw the end of xenoblade, so pardon my ignorance on it being wrapped up nicely.

Hey thanks for the welcome kid! LOL. Without giving away any spoilers, the ending could be seen in 2 ways- a huge epic story wrapped up nicely, or what we thought was a huge standalone adventure contained only on 2 sprawling giants, but which actually was only a tiny semblance of what shulks existence/ world COULD be. I prefer the second theory.

Hopefully, the 3DS one is Xenoblade Stories, a Xenoblade sub-series I made up off the top of my head right now.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

Actually, I'd love a game that used the same mechanics as Xenoblade — the battle system and party setup options really were perfect and by the time i felt i'd finally mastered it, the game was nearly over. whether it's a sequel or not, i wouldn't care... i'd just love love love to be able to jump right into another game that handled in a similar manner.

A spiritual sequel, then.
I mean, I hated the battle system but

It's funny because Xenoblade is already a spiritual sequel to a spiritual sequel.

I agree with this. I'd like for Monolith to borrow from From Software (Demon's Souls - Dark Souls), and make a game that is entirely different, set in an entirely different world etc etc, but as the same time familiar and using the same combat system.

And put a little more attention on the character models this time. The landscapes can say the same gorgeousness they always were.
