I'm pretty sure Miyamoto is just messing with us.
Then again, Sega owns several amusement parks, and used to own one of the largest, arcades in North America.
I'd really like to see a "metroid VS. legend of zelda" paintball game where link and samus dressed people using huge(but different) arsenals of paint weapons!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

I wouldn't put a lot of hope in this. I think he was just saying, "Never say never."
Exactly, this one offhand comment has seemed to quickly spread out of context as people lay out detailed ideas for an amusement park. It'd be like Disney World for gamers, but it's unlikely. This would require an immense amount of money and to make it worthwhile the number of visitors required... Well, it's just not realistic. Not enough people would travel across the world to visit a Nintendo park, even if some of us would. To make a profit with the number of fans able to do this, tickets would be incredibly expensive (even compared to Disney). A majority of families enjoy Disney but Nintendo is more known by the younger generations, with many parents having little invested interest other than buying them for children. Disney is a big name in many more countries than Nintendo. It just would not be a realistic endeavor in the foreseeable future. Maybe if in 10 years Nintendo somehow grows immensely but there are many areas of entertainment Nintendo would be more likely to explore than theme parks.
Yes, I'd love this to happen, but the fact remains it would kill Nintendo financially, which is why Nintendo hasn't done it. Miyamoto simply said it's possible in the future, but I doubt Nintendo has even considered this a viable option.
Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV

I know I've told you this before, but dude, you are freaking smart. A financial adviser couldn't have explained it better then you have. I may not know much about economy and business, but I can tell when a person knows what he's talking about in such regards, and you're certainly one of them.
To be fair, I never said the idea was plausible or likely to happen. I just thought it'd be interesting to discuss the two million Nintendo should do if they decide to open up a Nintendo theme park and what kind of attractions should be included.
I'm pretty sure everyone else here was much the same, right? We weren't all 'oh it will happen', just discussing it because it's more interesting to discuss what should be included if it did turn out to be true.
I think it would be cool, but I wouldn't want a project like this to interfere with their development of the actual games and such. An even worse scenario would be if it wasn't profitable and ended up being a burden.
