Well neither was Rare and honestly Rare is far more profitable s a company now than they were with Nintendo.

LOL I'm sure they're more profitable now doesn't change the fact that their games are now crap with there last good game being 8 years ago now (Viva Piñata). And yes Rare was special and had a plethora of high quality releases under their belt before being brought by Microsoft, Mojang has one and who knows if they will have another one in them and given how MS has a knack for buying then ruining developers I don't think we'll ever find out and instead just have Minecraft milked to death.

They made stuff that was as good as Nintendo (And sold as well as Nintendo) which I cannot think of anybody else that has ever done on a Nintendo platform.

Except being fully owned by Microsoft makes this point moot...

How are the people that created:
Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie
Jet Force Gemini
Goldeneye 007
Perfect Dark
Donkey Kong Country 1,2 3 and 64
Diddy Kong Racing
and Conker's Bad Fur Day

not that special? (Also Anticipation but no one remembers that game)

Rares increase in profits likely comes from a growing industry rather than because of anything Microsoft has done. Its interesting to think of what might have been had Rare stayed with Nintendo...
