Why doesn't Nintendo see if they can ask Microsoft for some...assistance on a 3DS port? There was a homebrew for MineCraft DS. Why not put the homebrew into the market and make profit???
Alternatively, someone could just make a Minecraft-Clone and sell it on the WiiU shop or 3DS shop.
We'll call it "Miner Mario." You can play as any Mario character or Miis. Same premise as Minecraft except no creepers, zombies, pigs, etc. They're all replaced with Goombas, Koopas, CheepCheeps, Boos, etc.

It's a possibility. Mojang obviously have no problem porting the game to get plenty more sales, although the sales on the Wii U would be very limited. If they didn't, it wouldn't be because the platform would restrict modding or performance, because otherwise it never would have left the PC.

I mean it wasn't a bad game, but everyone was freaking out and saying "Dude this game will steal your life, totally worth your money!!1!1!1!1!1" Haven't touched it in like a month or something. >_>

Anyways, I do enjoy playing Minecraft a lot. It was the only game that got me away from Monster Hunter for a good while. Eventually it did become a bit pointless after I built everything that what I wanted and lacked the joy of multiplayer mode. Most of the fun I get now is from mods (just 3 so far) and making new textures to share with my friends for our favorite mod. I haven't tried multiplayer mode on the PC yet mainly because none of my friends can pick a good time to play.

Oh it's not a bad game. I personally got bored of it quick though. I think it's overhyped a bit. Still, it's the kind of game that's better suited to PC gaming anyways. Though the Wii U touch screen could be useful, I suppose.

Looking at the dozens of PC Minecraft clones I'm pretty surprised we haven't seen a single one on the Wii U. Only a matter of time, I wager.

I actually like vanilla Minecraft. Screw mods.
But unfortunately, I think that it'd be the same as the XBox version to me... Unless it keeps up with the PC version on updates, the PC version will be the one that I play. It just has so much more to do than the other versions and stuff you can add on that they'll never catch up. (Looking at you, Pocket Edition-that-doesn't-even-have-fire)
We love Minecraft at my house and we have it on all three of our Xboxs so me and the kids can play together. It's a great co-op game and we usually break our roles into gathering building material (me), fighting off the monsters (son), and growing farms and cooking (daughter).
