Surprisingly enough, I didn't see a topic about just the miiverse.
So... I'm not sure I'm even interested in it at all. I don't want to hear what people all over the world are saying about Wii U games, especially games I don't even own. If I did, I'd just get online and read about it. I don't want it shoved in my face every time I turn my gaming system on. I'd be alright with seeing what my friends are saying, but not strangers.
Does "miiverse" even have any purpose other than having speech bubbles from strangers saying, "Yay! 1,000 coins!" or "I'm stuck on level 2!"? Because I do not want that. I very much hope that there's an option to have that turned off.
If anything I hope it provides an easier way to create a friends list like Xbox Live. Also hope it creates better opportunities to meet up and play online. So instead of the examples above it's something along the lines of "Hey, I'm going to be online tonight at 8pm CST playing Mario Kart if anyone wants to join me.".
I'm also hoping it will go the Xbox Live route. I hope we get to customize our Miis a bit more (shirts, hats, and items pertaining to relevant games). What I really want to know is how MiiVerse will be implemented on the 3DS. It's supposed to go there, too and I'm sure it will have more features to it than MiiVerse's upcoming mobile phone apps.
I don't think the strangers thing is going to happen. Nintendo wants to go more online and show their mettle in that aspect, but they're still Nintendo. You probably won't see anyone unless they're on your friends list. And even if that isn't the case, you can guarantee they'll have a parental control feature that allows you to turn them off.

Should be optional. If not, just turn of your WiFi connection.
Miiverse, form what I've understood, isn't just the online service. It's part of the whole systems interface. You'll be able to go on to forums about different games etc. and games are gonna offer features that kind of resembles the interaction 3DS owners have with StreetPass. Minor interactions with each other, like in ZombiU where people can write hints on walls for you to notice in your own game or the ability to kill other peoples Zombified survivors and loot all of their stuff.
It's all a very interesting concept to me. But I'm still skeptical based on Nintendo's history with online. Could turn out to be really cool though.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Well i really think you would be able to turn it off... but just as long as i can add friends easily and message them easily i would be fine.
Also it wouldn't show games you don't have.
They have many things they can do with this if they apply it right.

Ugh... really? I just don't care about how many coins somebody has collected or what level they're stuck on, etc. if I don't even know who they are. Most of them are going to be kids, I'm sure. I'm an adult. I don't want to make friends with random kids over the internet.
I also don't want to hear anything about a game before I play it or hear about things in a game before I get that far. I know Nintendo says they're going to try to avoid spoilers, but I don't see how that's entirely possible.
Anyway i thought they would have people filter out spoilers and stuff... and they said that it could take 15 to 20 mins to get the message up there... am i right?
The filtering should work well enough, it's not like you need to see instantaneous feedback and a full stream containing every single comment made on the game. It's not like the experience will be improved if I see "ahh! I keep dying at this goomba" from a random as soon as they say it rather than half an hour, two hours or even weeks later. With friends and people on the same console it's non issue.
and if you don't think the random messages from strangers appearing is something you want....... turn it off or ignore it.
I love the idea of a Miiverse, although I'm sure it'll be replicated on the other systems not long after Wii U. They'll be at it again with their marketing, claiming its the "next new thing." I hope we can choose to ignore people though, even with moderation, spoilers will slip through I'm sure.
