Is it alright to keep the Wii U on for Netflix when I'm going to sleep? I pass out usually but will it hurt it at all since I have the 1 hour timer turned on? I know leaving hardware on isn't good for it but is it that bad with the timer set?

Technically they say it's bad for both the system and the tv but honestly, if it did hurt anything that would be due to other problems with the system. The most you would risk is some burn in to the tv screen over long periods of time, but I leave systems on all the time and not once have had any problems, any warnings are just so they can't take responsibility if something does happen (which is unlikely). Still, it doesn't hurt to turn it off if you remember, I mean if it happened to freeze or something it wouldn't be that good for it to stay stuck all night...

Yes. There's the timer and the burn-in reduction option, so you're covered. Unless you put a towel around it or hit your console really hard for fun, there should be no problem.

Plus I have an LED TV, not sure if those burn in like plasma. I prefer plasma but I like LED because it only uses like the fraction of the energy plasma needs.

I do this almost every single night, nothing bad has happened to my Netflix or WiiU yet.

@Ryno_Choryzo I have it on to help me sleep, can't sleep in a silent place. Dunno why, I gotta have the TV playing or a fan going or something.
