Just had this idea floating around where you could use a 3DS ,use a add on to the 3DS to your wrist as a device for activating doors, tech, computers etc that would work well with a tekkie game like Metroid and would add a new element of game play online. Also the wii u pad could be like a 3d scanner for secrets and hidden passages and combine the two together the 3DS and the u pad?
Stick the wiifit board in the mix put a vitality sensor on each finger strap a virtual boy to your head and one of those full body vibration kits and you got yourself a idk what!!!
Haha I actually like the idea of a wrist attachment. Strapping a 3DS to your arm is ridiculous however (also, I don't have one). It'd have to be a unique attachment that came bundled with the game, like the Pokewalker.
I actually have thought of using the Wii U Tablet thing to scan objects in a Metroid Prime like game. Like, when you look at the screen through it, it works as a scan visor or something. Just a thought

That is absolutley brilliant! so then the player could put his/her hand in the u pad scanner and see computer generated arm and hand bones.certain energy pick ups/perks allow you to put your hands in nuclear energy devices. If you dont have the correct perk your arm melts in 3D,in turn this would work well with online.metriod with cod perks.

Lately, it seems like developers can't go 2 months without making another game with a now painfully predictable gravity gimmick. I expect the next Metroid to jump on board with this trend and join the ranks of games like Inversion and Gravity Rush.

Oh no, this lead to Vita's most exciting game. HOW AWFUL!

It wouldn't be so bad. It's just that these gravity gimmicks have become the next block pusher puzzle or stealth kill. They're starting to feel mandatory now and I'm ready to move on, but instead I keep seeing devs pushing out the same tired tricks and trying to pass it off as something new and exciting when everyone has already done it to death.
Maybe? I honestly don't know, but I can't think of a ton of examples, especially not games where they are a major part of the game. Heck, most of the examples I can think of are games at least 5 years old.

I wonder what is left that developers can do that will be new and exciting? Call me cynical in my old age of 31 but until virtual reality is a reality I don't really see anything to give you the feeling that "this hasn't been done before" in at least some capacity.
Open world Metroid using Other M's third person concept is something I'm wanting while playing through Xenoblade. The bar is set really high for explorative games on the Wii U, and I want to see Metroid set the bar for the Wii U above or around where the Wii is leaving off. I'm doubting that'll happen though, and Metroid will continue to have narrow, smaller enclosed environments (plague the entire series really) with a focus on trying for the best graphics rather than taking amazing use of the Wii U's power to create an incredibly engrossing explorative experience. Seamlessness has been raised, and I'm not looking forward to doors in the next Metroid to be honest, and would rather see a design in place like in Metroid II, but in 3D with out "Now Loading" popping up.
