Topic: Metroid Prime Trilogy?

Okay so, with the Prime trilogy being so very expensive: 1100 swedish kronor which converts into roughly 170 dollars which converts into roughly 100 pounds i'm wondering: do you think it's worth it?

I love metroid and the Prime serie's. I basically bought my Wii U for Zelda (VC, Wii and upcoming ZeldaU) Metroid (The wii library and VC) and Xenoblade with its upcoming game X. But it is still so expensive.... What do you guys think, should i get it?

edit: I read somewhere that the Metroid Prime trilogy could in fact get an HD remake, do you guys think that it could happen?

WOW! That is a lot. And I thought is was expensive when I bought it for $60 used on ebay. What do new games cost? And if prime trilogy gets a remake, it will be announced at E3

i had the prime trilogy. controlls with wiimote are awesome.
kinda silly that the prime trilogy is so expansive. i should have kept my copy

@OP no it's not worth it i think. i would not pay more than 60€ for it. just like it cost when it came out

What does an average game cost where you live? That context matters in this case.

With Prime Trilogy, you are getting three very good games in one package. The price you mention is more than I would pay...but the market is different so maybe it's not really a fair comparison. If it helps, I would strongly consider paying the price of two full games to get Metroid Prime Trilogy and feel that was a worthwhile purchase.

As for an HD remake, I feel like there are better options that Nintendo could use those resources for. Maybe it will happen eventually, but I'd guess not in the near future. (Part of my reasoning is that I don't think they'd want to hack GamePad support into the game, and without that feature it wouldn't really be a notable upgrade over the Wii version.)

no HD-remakes, because the metroid games don't need it. they still look better than some HD-games of today

@ejamer Yeah it would cost me approx what two new game's would cost me. But it still sucks that i didn't own a Wii when it got released and now the price almost doubled..

edit: I mean i can get a used PS3 from Game for less than the Trilogy.. xD

What games? While the metroid prime series might look nice, it isn't even close to HD in graphics or environments, especially the original. This remake would hopefully make it look as good as some next gen games with better textures and character models. Granted, prime 3 looks great on my Wii U, but Prime 1 is in need of a makeover. I had a friend suggest that it would only be Prime 1 that gets the HD treatment. After all, it is the best of the bunch

Ouch. Until gamestop stocked it, it was going for 90 (1.5x) and xenoblade for 120 (2x) (going from 60 per new game)
At this rate, it would be cheaper to import a copy and hack a wii

@Maelstrom I got Xenoblade for 60€ new which was cool. Seem's like the trilogy is harder to come by here in Sweden.........

The same as 2-3 new releases? Ugh. That is expensive.

Having all three Metroid Prime titles on one disc with upgraded controls is great, and they are fantastic games... but it's really going to depend on your budget. Based on what you said above, that would almost certainly be more than I would be willing to pay. (On the upside: you could always buy and then try to sell later to get most of your money back. Doesn't seem like this game is dropping in value, and unless an HD remake happens it'll probably stay high for a while.)

There's actually a used one on a site similar to Ebay (but for within Sweden) where im gonna bid.... hope i win! I don't really like buying used item's but i'll do an exception! It's up for 50€ and 5 hours left. Wish me luck!!

Its frustrating becuae you can pick up the first tow GC versions and the 3rd on wii for about £5 each. So you are literally paying all that extra money just for the wii controls

It's an amazing package, but it's not worth that kind of money.

@KevTastic84 And for having it all on one disc with slightly improved visuals aswell. But the selling point for me is the "having it all on one disc". I would love to have it.

@19Robb92 But for 50€ used, would u think it's worth it? I made a bid anyhow as I think it would be worth it if i won.

That seems more reasonable.

The graphics are greatly improved and prime 2 has improved boost ball and powerbomb boss battles
