Not sure if this has been done before but I ask you guys desire not only a 3d Metroid but also a return to 2d Metroid games.
What would you like to see?

Koji Igarashi who left was asked a Metroid question. He said he would like to work on it but of course its up to Nintendo.

Nintendo would be moronic to let this guy go off on his own!

Throw some money his way, let him join/put a team together, and keep him. If there is already a Metroid game in the works, let him have some input on that one (assuming it doesn't ruffle the feathers of those who are already developing it), or let him do his own thing/revive a stagnant Nintendo franchise. His games would work perfectly on either a handheld or a console, and he is a proven talent.

I'd rather see IGA do something completely new, even if it comes down to making Castlevaia rip off. It would be interesting to see him take alot of what makes his Vania games (stats, levling up, etc) put into a metroid game. Though if Nintendo were to higher him I hope it wouldn't be for Metroid.

WAT!

Both of these responses have been common from what I have seen.

Personally though I am more curious for than against to see how Koji's Metroid ideas would work out.
