What if Giant Robot was preparation for a new Mario game? what I mean is, these characters move slowly.. and Mario is a platforming wiz. Now think Shadow of the Colossus.. yeah. you know where im going right? what if the whole level for a mario game was trying to reach the flagpole on the top of a robot head. now.. to shake things up "literally" one player can control the robot via pro controller and the second player can try to navigate this massive droid.
Don't get me wrong, there's a lot more that would need to be done to make this fun and win able but eventually even having a robot creator where you can have rotating forearms and pipes that lead you from knee to tailbone.. making some surfaces metalic for mario's magnet boots..
I just see alot of potential for this concept.
whats the name of this game you ask?
Mario vs the Gigantics
post your name for this game!
What if Giant Robot was preparation for a new Mario game?
Sighs and rests face in hands
Nintendo: "We came up with this awesome new concept and game guys!"
Fans: "That's great, but where's the Mario?"
Nintendo: "No, no, this game doesn't have Mario in it!"
Fans: "But....Mario? Metroid? Zelda?" falls into foetal position

Nintendo: Gives them Mario/Zelda/Metroid
Fans: "Ugh! Again!? You're running out of ideas!"
I could see a co-op game where one person controls a giant character with the gamepad, and the other controls a tiny character with a wii mote or pro, and they have to work together to solve puzzles or defeat enemies ala Last Guardian. I'd be into that.
