You all will be sorely disappointed if you're seriously wanting amiibo to unlock fully playable characters.
Don't be like what I was when Mario Kart 8 was originally confirmed to support amiibo.
Great idea for a discussion. So what the heck do you guys think this game is going to do with amiibo? I hope Nintendo realizes that we are going to get pretty sick of seeing the same old mii costumes all the time.
Maybe it unlocks cool wallpaper in the game or something. It can't be too crazy, though.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

If skins is all amiibo is going to offer in other games, then that will be very disappointing.
Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

I, unfortunately, foresee skins in the future. Either for the Mii or the car.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

There's a big difference when comparing MK8 and Mario Party 10. MK8 was almost completed when the amiibo concept was invented, while the amiibo support for Mario Party 10 could have be planned for a much longer time during development. The MK8 costumes were only an afterthought.

Though the costumes have been extremely popular, I've seen so many people online with them since Smash Wii U launched in the US.
I don't think amiibo is going to have a big effect on the game. I honestly can't think of how the game would interact with them outside of possible skins.
Once a LuigiMan, now a Dreamy representation of the Goddess of Nature.

Miyamoto and Trinen visited the Nerdy Nummies on YouTube, and how they presented amiibos for Mario Party 10 (at about 8:30) sounded like it's something different than costumes.
It's blurry because it's been blown up from a small image from Nintendo's amiibo website.
According to the box art, there would not be any online support? However, the Smash U box art on the amiibo site doesn't have the network logo as well, so perhaps it's still "wait and see".

The Smash Wii U box I'm holding in my hand right now doesn't have the Nintendo Network logo on the cover, so the lack of one here doesn't confirm nor deconfirm anything.
I doubt it'll have online. If Nintendo Land & Wii Party U are any indication, Nintendo strongly believes that party games are best fit for friends and family to get together at home and play. And I have absolutely no problem with that!

It's not that big a deal on home consoles, but on handhelds, it's completely and utterly asinine.

In the Coming Soon to Nintendo eshop section of the Wii U eshop, it has Mario Party 10 next to Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. Could this mean it's coming soon, maybe in March, or do they just put any random 2015 game there and just switch them out every so often?
It definitely shouldn't take too long to develop. Considering we saw a decent amount at E3, which was over half a year ago, it ought to be close to finished by now. Nintendo didn't mention it in their tweet with the release windows of 2015 games, so it didn't seem like it was coming soon, and it might be the kind of game Nintendo would wait for the holiday season to release. Still, I'd say it will probably come out in the next few months.

It has already been classified for Australia, which IMO makes it impossible for it to arrive later than April/May. Based on their classification history of released Wii U products, Feb/March is the most likely release date.
