@whodatninja No, I'm afraid that is not the case. People are assuming this, but at the very least, on the map we saw at E3, the car would be in both modes. As I said, the attractions were intended for four players, which implies that there will be four players together at a time when using the attractions. (Why is this relevant? Because the attractions were what they played when they selected "Mario Party" from the main menu screen in the Treehouse demo.)
I personally really dislike this kick of trying to make the games short and easy-to-swallow chunks of mediocre gameplay with no real decision-making or strategy involved with the map screen. You just go one way or another and it meets back up three spaces later. I get that the more recent Mario Party titles were starting to drag on, but this really isn't the solution. Most of us that enjoyed Mario Party back when it was "good" would really prefer not to be treated like we don't know what we're doing. It's painful to watch. I'm serious.
They should just remake Mario Party 1-3's design and leave the car for the Bowser Party sections! I would love that.
I looked into this a bit more, and just about every Wii U game that has been released is labeled as "Multi Platform" on the Australian Classification web site.
And comparing the Australian release dates vs. the classification dates:
The general "rule" for a Nintendo retail game is 3 months between classification and Australian release date.
For retail releases, the shortest span (by far) between the classification date and release date is Super Smash U. (Classification date: October 08, Australian release date: 29 November)
For retail releases, the longest span between the classification date and release date is Tropical Freeze (classification: September 09, 2013, release: February 22, 2014)
For digital-only releases, the span is generally short, like for Pullblox World (classification: June 04, release June 19)
So, based on this, the conclusion is that Mario Party 10 (and Devil's Third) would not likely be released later than April 2015.
For retail releases, the longest span between the classification date and release date is Tropical Freeze (classification: September 09, 2013, release: February 22, 2014)
This was also before it was delayed from it's original December release date.
count me out
i played mario party 4 years ago and i nearly smashed my controller
the cpu was such an un fair cheating backstabbing bastid i never bothred with the series ever again
maybe they fixed that but im not gonna cough up 50 just to find out
I still want Rosalina to be a newcomer and Donkey Kong to return as a playable character.
They can generate hype for the game by treating it like Smash and adding online.
Perhaps have a Mushroom Kingdom character setup as the standard roster, and users could add characters from other game universes though amiibo support?

And yet, Nintendo's E3 trailer for Mario Party 10 has about twice as many views on YouTube compared to their E3 trailers for Mario Maker or Splatoon.
But the big thing with Splatoon was the Treehouse streams, not the reveal trailer. I remember on this site for example that the comments devolved into Shrek and Stair Fax nonsense when Splatoon wasn't being shown.

Exactly. Mario Party also has a following. People do buy them regardless. I'll buy Mario Party 10 only if there's online.

Mario Party is still surprisingly popular. Mario Party 9 is very popular on Youtube.
Is it? MP9 videos tend to get a huge amount of down-votes, same with Island Tour; probably from people who really can't accept the change from older Mario Parties.

You all will be sorely disappointed if you're seriously wanting amiibo to unlock fully playable characters.
Don't be like what I was when Mario Kart 8 was originally confirmed to support amiibo.
Great idea for a discussion. So what the heck do you guys think this game is going to do with amiibo? I hope Nintendo realizes that we are going to get pretty sick of seeing the same old mii costumes all the time.
