That looks frickin awesome! I was so hyped when I saw this at E3 and now after seeing the Treehouse presentation I'm even more psyched. I hope there's a way to extend the length of the level; I'm sure there'll be a limit on it but yeh that looks too short as it is. And to have little dungeon coin rooms would be awesome too. At the moment it's not too bad but I'm sure there's going to be more customisations available. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.

What I'm hopoing is to actually play progressively all the levels that we create, and not just be a single level thing. Also, the demo made it seem really short the amount of time or how much you can put into one level. But there's still time for development.
This game looks meh. Just a generic level editor that doesn't take much time to make. What I'm disappointed to see is that changing the art style doesn't change the physics. Playing with NSMBU graphics still controls like classic mario, which really sucks.

Blue blue.

I have to admit the lack of changing physics has me a little put off too. Of all the physics engines you could use the original Mario Bros. is actually the worst. Sure, it's classic, but ones like Super Mario World are INSANELY superior and would be great to at least switch to (if not have as the template)
God @DestinyMan, you're such a handsome beautiful man.

I'll probably get this game if levels are very easy to share and try, but if it's a hassle to do that I'll have to reconsider my actions...

Prehaps they will reveal more and more, but i am worried that it will be more restrictive than say Little Big Planet. That game is very robust and quiet open ended when it comes to customization. plus, i am not digging the New Super Mario Bros look not a fan of those games
Well, we know there will be more templates. Personally, I would like:
Super Mario Bros. 2 (you can do it, Nintendo!)
Super Mario Bros. 2 (All-Stars version)
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros. 3 (All-Stars version)
Super Mario Bros. (All-Stars version)
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island (again, you can do it, Nintendo!)
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

While LBP is certainly more robust, the issue with those games is that the platforming is, frankly, awful. The physics and control are just so loose and imprecise feeling that it honestly ruins it for me.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I could see Bros 2, Bros 3, and World being available at launch, with the All-Stars modes being DLC. I don't see Yoshi's Island happening, as that is completely different gameplay.

''I might consider doing something for 3DS. Right now, the Wii U hardware has a lot more power, so you can fit a lot more enemies and elements on the course.''
The Wii U sure is more powerful than the 3DS, but I'm sure Mario Maker would run on it without any problem at all. Even if it contained more enemies and such. I don't see the problem, but the Wii U needs its titles right now.
If Nintendo went all out with crossover DLC with Mario Kart 8, I can't imagine the possibilities for crossover DLC with Mario Maker.
Playing as eight bit Link or Samus in your own Mario themed courses? Maybe even as Ness?!
That would be awesome, but I think they would probably stick with Mario only stuff for this one.
Actually, I think they said a while ago that there could be non-Mario assets in the game. But uh...I wouldn't suggest getting your hopes up for Ness. Knowing Nintendo, I don't think it's going to happen, at least not in America.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
