Topic: Super Mario Maker - OT

So it looks like the World Record Time is based on TOTAL time timed to clear a level. This includes all failed attempts. I just saw that my latest difficult level World Record clear time is 38:41:380 😳 that's some determination right there 😂

It might only be like that until someone beats it after the update.

Its still showing me having the record on my end with 00:12.990

This was after the update LOL. Its a hard level. I could easily someone taking 38min to clear (including myself hahah). anything before the update shows like this --:--:---

So you can't set records for your own course, let alone get your time at the end? That's lame. I mean, I get the creator of the level has an unfair advantage, but what's the sense of accomplishment if you can't beat the creator at his own game? They should add another section for "creator's record".

Played Super Mario Maker for a little bit, just to try out one of the new elements. Made a Castle level, this is also the last SMB3 level in my "game", World is up next.

@MasterWario: I don't think the creator can be the record holder. But it would be really cool to have "Creator's Record"

With the new update keeping track of time; I figured I'd _shamelessly advertise my latest level, since it seems to fit in with the feature. Anyone wanna try to get the best time?

Please give me some feedback on my new level. I was trying to find a fun way to use some of the costumes I have unlocked. It's only meant to be a little challenging. I've spent way too much time on most of my courses and I didn't want to do that with this one so it's short and simple for me. I was surprised the only person to play it took 7 attempts... and then she didn't even star it. Anyway, please let me know what you think:

Alright, with the new update I have made some new levels that are shmup style games.

Super Mario Power Level 1 (Easy) (DBD3-0000-0125-BCD8)
Super Mario Power Level 2 (Easy) (5884-0000-0125-BF50)
Super Mario Power Level 3 (Easy) (95DD-0000-0125-C23E)
Super Mario Power Level 4 (Easy) (8C31-0000-0126-D062)

Going to make Hard version of these levels, as well as a God Mode Version.

and then add on the id of anyone's course. Then boom, bookmark it. Not sure if there's an easier way but it's efficient enough for me.

@j-BL00D: I think it's total time if you get a checkpoint. It resets if the level starts over from the beginning.

@Chandlero: had to completly shut the wii down to refresh. I am so close but can't beat 12.6 and I need 12.4

@MasterWario: so you're saying if I die from the start 10 times and die after the checkpoint 10 it will count 1 from the start and 10 from the checkpoint?

@j-BL00D: That would make the most sense, but it's possible it'll only count one at the checkpoint as well. I know for sure that it does reset if you die from the start. And I don't know how you could get a 38 minute clear time if it didn't count deaths from a checkpoint.

Maybe pressing "pause" counts for the total time as well.

I can believe he spent over 30mins clearing it from the checkpoint. It's a HARD level but fair. But its my hardest level I've made. This will soon have my lowest clear rate

Made another level...For my first main SMW level I made a remix, though it's not World's first level. Advanced Remix may come later this week, if not then sometime in January. (and chances are, it'll be just as hard as 1-1 Advanced....so, yeah...)
