slopes are nice and all but it's not a deal breaker. You still have tons of other content to make your levels enjoyable. A slope for sliding down won't kill your levels ingenuity.

Yes, true.
But I cant deny the fact all levels will feel blocky after some time, akin to SMB1 style.
Not that is a bad thing, but having some angled slopes would be possible to shape some pretty cool stuff.
I suppose they didn't added because enemies would need to react to the slopes, and all the engine interactions.

I agree with the slope interactions and such. Basically a problem programming the tool to program the slopes that were having problems rendering/coding the slopes without causing some sort of massive issue. They could very well patch it in at a later date. they just need to get this out the door before the anniversary year passes IMO.

GameXplain interview with game developers Tezuka and Oshino.
– It was decided to make it only a single-player game early on
– Online functionality was also decided early on
– Nintendo was worried about the servers being flooded with levels and being unable to find them, so a lot of work was put in to make sure players can find the great ones amidst so-so levels
– Can’t download a level, edit it, and re-upload because they wanted to avoid copycat levels
– Can only upload 1 level at a time, not full-scale Mario adventures
– Hard cap on the number of objects you can have in a level, but you probably won’t ever notice it
– Nintendo will be able to distribute courses to players
– No DLC plans for things like enemies and objects
– There's no Koopalings
– Different amiibo suits only change the sound effects/different animations for clearing the course
– Nintendo has more things to reveal in Super Mario Maker
– Tezuka’s favorite Mario game is Super Mario Bros. 3
– Oshino’s favorite Mario game is Super Mario World
Aww, so you can't play with someone else. That's a bummer, but at least the game still looks really fun.
Mostly stuff I wanted to hear. DLC could've been a slippery slope (just look at LBP), so I'm glad the retail release won't be treated as "the base version".
I hope we can do more with the autoscroll...probably not, ah well. lol
What else are you thinking of? iirc, there are four different options; no autoscroll, and three different speeds: slow, medium and fast.
In the main games (mainly SMB3 and world), the camera would be fixed regardless and move on a set path. Kinda figured you could do more with that or something, like an complex underwater course or something.

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Are you talking about the airship levels where the camera moves up and down the entire time? I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I'm sure they probably left it out to prevent the game from becoming too complex.

No, since those levels are in the game. I can't remember which levels exactly, but some of them were cave and underwater levels, it's not really a big deal or anything though. (now that I think about, the scrolling speed could also change in-game as well...lol)

That's really disappointing, especially after seeing those screens that seemed like you could link levels together to create worlds.
Well, maybe they can make the sequel better by fixing all these things. Like multiplayer and being able to upload sets of levels rather than one at a time.
