It's how you build the level, you don't need to make levels like that. As for for the challenge games you can just skip them anyways if you run into a level like that.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Darth_Vader: Disappointing because it isn't following rules set in the Mario games. Super Mario Maker is following its own rules and because of these rules, there will be levels where if you don't do everything perfect you can reach a point where you cannot finish the level. I haven't seen the Metroid level you speak of but I thought amiibo mushrooms were just skins. Do they add special abilities too?
I don't think the idea of needing a certain item to beat a stage is bad, but I agree it's going to lead to a lot of bad stages that are overly difficult and rely on trial and error. A lot of the stages I saw IGN create and post on Youtube just look trollish and I wouldn't waste much effort on them. I think most people will skip them unless they're hardcore enthusiastic about hard (unfair) levels.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

Derp. But what ever I got this spontaneous idea today: I love horror movies and Halloween's getting close so what if there was a stage based on Psycho? You're playing from the point of view of Norman Bates and ya know killing certain people in specific settings. I don't have really any concrete ideas for how it'd work but I think I could come up with something after screwing around with Mario Maker. So basically, I can't wait until Friday.
@Grumblevolcano: Same here. I was hopeful that it would arrive before the 11th (I ordered Bayonetta 2 from the Nintendo store and it arrived two days before release) but just release date would be good now.
online games include: Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart 7, Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon.
