A Double Dash sequel, or something that changes things as heavily as that did is what I would like.

I really don't want a HD MKWii. I really didn't care for that one.

Looking forward to this as Mario Kart has been a fantastic way to break in a new system since the series went online.

All I really want is a return to the old battle system where the last one standing wins! That was actually fun, unlike the coin matches and stuff they have now.

Agree times a million.

Removing that option was one of the worst decisions Nintendo ever made. A sort of understandable one (probably to stop online matches dragging out forever), but a bad one regardless.

Yeah I'd rather not have to play with a ton of computers just to play a good old battle match against a friend.

It would be cool to have realistic mud and dust accumulate on the karts, allowing you to use the stylus to write obscenities and draw penises on your opponents vehicles.

And get rid of the coin collecting too.

The question is:

Do we want some sort of gimmick this time around,
or like a back-to-basics approach with the highlight being the HD aspect?

Making it more like Double Dash wouldn't hurt. The online option could be increased and it would be different than the last three boring installments.

Also, HD shouldn't be the main focus. On anything. It's not only been around for half a decade but Nintendo can do so much more than that. Give us the huge roster from Wii, more tracks than ever before (48 instead of 32), more multiplayer modes, mission mode, Mario Kart Channel with something worthwhile this time, voice chat and downloadable content.

yeah i agree with these ideas and bring back all the items they took some out on mk7 which sucks i mean they kept the stupid squid wth?? -_-

Personally I'd like to see a return to last man standing battlemode.
I think i'd like to see more emphasis on new tracks as opposed to the 50/50 split between new and old we've had for a few games now.
DLC could actually work really well for this game. I wouldn't mind seing DLC packs with a mixture of new racers, karts, courses (old and new) as long as they're reasonably priced and not over-done.
I'm also not opposed to seeing the return of 2 characters per kart or the inclusion of the different vehicles. Though they weren't very well used in mario Kart 7. would have been far better if they'd taken the Diddy kong racing aproach and had slightly different paths for each vehicle.

New tracks, online racing, kart customization a-la mod nation, miis, and a new mode of some sort. I dunno what exactly but keep it fresh.

Now that I think about it, they could use DLC to potentially allow all the older tracks to players who want them. Like $10 for ALL the tracks from a past title. Or if you want individual tracks, $1 each. That could be cool.

Lol, I think it would cost more than $10..

Of course, they could do things like "Double Dash Pack" featuring four of the best DD tracks in a DLC pack. Enough for a new cup.

Looking for some 3DS and Wii U friends. PM me if interested!

There is NO way they'd put all the tracks from a previous game in untouched. They'd need an update to suit the newer play style.

I'd love DLC based on the older Mario Kart games. Double so if I can pick and choose which tracks to buy, I'd love to be able to say, pick Airship Fortress, Waluigi Pinball, Koopa Cape, Mushroom City and Bowser's Castle and leave out the likes of DK Pass, Peach Circuit and Cheep Cheep Lagoon.

I don't know about having single tracks available for download, because that would make playing online a bit more difficult. I imagine there would be different packs that you'd have to buy and then each pack would be like it's own playlist for online games, sort of like how Call of Duty handles DLC map packs online. I don't see how else they would do it. Unless every player in the match happened to have that track available then it could be randomly selected. I'm not sure if that would work well enough, though.

Hi to all. I don't want "classic" tracks on the new mario kart wii u. I would like to see "all new title" in all respects. New graphics, new karts, new tracks. And, some new character would be welcome..

DrSlump

DudeSean

@DrSlump Would you be okay with us getting classic tracks for DLC?

And you know half the tracks will be remakes of tracks from old MK games just like all the other recent Mario Kart games have done.

I don't care old tracks, because i've already played them on the past. If i would like to try them again, there are wirtual console games. Sometimes it feels to me playing the same game over again, paying it at full price. Nintendo need to reinvent itself, or it will perish in the next console war.
