I see people keep mentioning a track editor. How would that even work? I know Nintendo doesn't like to do things unless it's easy for the player to do, and I don't see someone being able to easily create tracks similar to what we've seen in recent Mario Kart games.

I could see Nintendo maybe doing it if it were really simple, not just to create, but the tracks themselves would be simple. Kind of like the stage editor in Brawl.

There's a lot of room for improvement when it comes to Mario Kart. Longer tracks, balancing items, game changing items and a superb online, just to name four off the top of my head.

After 7, this is more obvious now than it has ever been.

You silly. There are three series that sells a console.
Super Smash Bros.
The Legend of Zelda.
Mario Kart.

Don't believe me? Look at sales for Wii. Heck, even Gamecube.

You're absolutely insane if you don't think there'll be a Wii U Mario Kart game. It's one of Nintendo's best selling series, they're not going to skip out their major new console with it.

I bet anything it'll turn out Mario Kart U is revealed at E3 this year.

Just put blue shells back to the way they were in MK64. It's the only game where they worked without being frustrating.

You mean scarce and under powered? I agree.

But don't imitate 64's unbalanced items. That was a disaster.

No, just the Blue Shell specifically. I wasn't much of a fan of MK64 in general, but the Blue Shell worked for what it was without being such a pain.

I'm guessing Nintendo was saving Wario Colosseum for this one.

I definitely want Wario Colosseum for this game as well.. Also Toad's Factory, and Wario's Goldmine.

Looking for some 3DS and Wii U friends. PM me if interested!

The retro tracks are just a perk in my opinion, I can always play one of the older games if I wanna do a particular existing track. What do you suppose this game's "gimmick" might be? Any theories? 7 had some cool ideas but they ended up feeling half baked in my opinion. In fact, the only gimmick I actually enjoyed was Double Dash's, it was cool to have some level of co-op.

Weren't those two just in Mario Kart 7 as retro tracks?

The one "retro" track I want is Grumble Volcano from Wii. Not really so much the track itself, but I can't get enough of that music...

Actually that would be a cool idea; being able to change music on the track, either before or during the race. Maybe there could be an item that does that (though it would of course be totally useless). Sort of like the Fortune's Jukebox power in Kid Icaqrus: Uprising.

I want to see new battle modes! Or old battle modes, whatever. I can't stand the coin collection, it's so frustrating! But the bobomb blast and shine-sprite modes from MKDD were awesome! Then maybe some new ones why not. And on the subject of that I'd prefer the online to allow you which battle modes to play, as in either one or the other.

As for retro tracks, Yoshi Valley from N64 is a must - I'm surprised they haven't done it already!
I think I said this before but it all depends on what new 'gimmick' they bring in. IE, the courses they brought for MK7 were almost all perfect for either underwater driving or flying through the air driving. In MKWii it was for doing the stunts. Perhaps we'll see a more finely-tuned drift bonus (which will be perfect for Wario Coloseum and Yoshi Valley 64) where you accumulate points, like in NFS games, though I can't think of any other practical reason other than the boosts which are already there.

On the subject of Mario Kart and NFS, maybe Mario Kart WiiU will be more like this:

This is another game that as time creeps on...I wonder and wait...I need to see this game. I need to know when I can have my chubby little fingers on it.
