Don't most Mario Kart games support surround sound? After all, I hear the Wii can support it already, as can the Wii U.

Game Pad support is kind of expected too, they're not going to release a Mario Kart game for a new system with a new type of fancy controller then never make use of said controller.

The Wii U supports 5.1 channels, while Wii supports 2.1. It's more of an uppgraded surround sound.

I wouldn't. I like Double Dash and I like every other game, but I prefer a completely new game with new content to a remake of an older title.

I think what would make a new Mario Kart great is to incorporate a lot of the features from the old games, but also adding in new features. Sort of like they do with the tracks. Bring back the old, but polished up while also bringing completely new.

There's going to be DLC regardless, so I don't think there will be any shortage of tracks, new or old.

I just want single player VS support. I felt like that was the biggest problem with 7. I'm hoping that it will come out this year, but I can't say I'll be horribly shocked if it doesn't. Either way, it'll be great.
I can't really imagine what they can add as its "exclusive incentive", which I concur is a great idea for each installment.
By the way... Please, no filler in the roster like 7 had too. Metal Mario and Queen Bee were just ridiculous. I do like seeing more niche characters getting added in, but those two are barely relevant at all now. I don't want to see the same thing happen in the next game.

There would be alot of bad tracks if they did 32 new ones since they'd have to think of so many of them in such a small amount of time. I think adding 2 more cups would be good though. Put in the Golden Mushroom Cup as a new cup right in between Star and Special, then put in the Diamond Cup as a retro cup right after the Lightning Cup.

I don't. I want an appropriate roster filled with the Mario universe's iconic stars.

Ya see. That's thinking. I understand it would take more time, but they should if they can, and addind just 2 new cups to retro and new tracks would be cool to, but like DudeSean said, I'm sure we'll see DLC.

I don't think all new tracks mean there'd have to be some bad ones. Otherwise you're basically saying you thought Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart Super Circuit had bad selections of tracks.

2 new cups would be awesome as well.

16 NEW Tracks and 16 CLASSIC tracks, it be cool to see some popular old tracks fully redesigned for HD.
and to the previous post before that, i agree on what u want, i just hope they add a single player VS. mode option like in previous mario karts, I was surprised it wasn't available in MK7, that wasn't the only thing i did not like about the game.

A single player vs mode is a must. Hated how that wasn't in either Double Dash or Mario Kart 7.

what about 5 tracks per cup again, like in Super Mario Kart? maybe it's just my wishful thinking but it would be great to have more than 32 tracks, the recent Mario Kart games always had 32 tracks

anyways, as for some of my ideas for the next Mario Kart, yeah I wanna see quick run mode again, but how about an adventure mode similar to Crash Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing? maybe make the game more skill based than Mario Kart Wii as well, like have a way to dodge spiny (blue) shells without having to use a mushroom. a track editor would be sweet too, as well as a custom emblem maker like the DS game had. there should also be a way to disable items for multiplayer races, as well, like in Super Smash Bros. I also wanna see the kart customizer to be even more expanded, as well

What would be the point of Blue Shells if they could be dodged easily? I'm all for some kind of adventure mode though or at least a story-type mission mode.

Just put blue shells back to the way they were in MK64. It's the only game where they worked without being frustrating.

You mean scarce and under powered? I agree.

But don't imitate 64's unbalanced items. That was a disaster.

I really don't think there will be a MK Wii U. I just do see what they can do to improve what has already been done in previous MK Games.
